//Dave Yenzors Character will be progressive, meaning that events which happen ingame will effect him and influence his opinions. Being young and rather inexperienced, with a fairly uneventful upbringing, he is naive and biased with simple opinions of Sirius. He was brought up on Planet Denvor with a cushy, rich life where everything was handed to him on a plate, including his job at Ageira management. Being bored with his life and seeking more of a thrill generally the ways of the inexperienced, he boldly decided to move into the shipping sector where he feels like he could take on the galaxy.
Captain Dave Yenzor of the Ageira Transport ATS-Jersey. My friends call me JJ, thats right, the famous JJ. Its short for Jersey Journey for those of you who havent heard of me.
How I got that nickname I hear you all ask, Ill haul anything, anywhere at anytime to anyone, of course I only mean Ageira goods and to perfectly legal places. Usually it means travelling across Sirius, being renown for travelling great distances, the name Jersey Journey means long journey, kind of a weird nickname, but it stuck.
I was born into Ageira, my family have a long history with the company, my father worked for Ageira, my fathers father did, and so on, they all worked in management at the headquarters on Planet Denver, Colorado. As far as I know Im the only one whos moved into shipping.
Usually other shipping corporations transport our goods, but we cant always rely on them to deliver into war zones. The risk usually outweighs the profit, but for me, surviving the risk is the profit.
Ive been known to haul Light Arms to the savaged omega systems, where the Corsairs and Hessains fight for dominance.
Ive hauled Gate/Lane parts to the front lines of the Tau systems where the trade lanes are constantly getting damaged. Where I could easily be mistaken for bringing in relief support.
I fight off Xenos on a daily basis, I challenge Lane Hackers at every possible chance and I pity the Liberty Rogues just because I can.
Currently Im stationed at Pueblo Base. Should be there for a while. Shipping anything that needs to be shipped Jersey Journey, following the winds of chaos for that extra profit.
My job has kept me quite busy, and filing Ageira reports is time consuming. Being captain of a ship is a lot of work. In the few days Ive been working for Ageira Ive already had such an eventful time.
This includes running a Lane Hacker blockade over planet Manhattan, escaping Rogue encounters near my base of operations, and warning off Xenos propaganda protest at Pueblo.
I have already brought a new ship, a Transport. Shes a beauty, flying under the same name as my previous ship. The first ship Ive captained with a crew, long shipping runs dont get so lonely. I know one of them, back when I was growing up on Denvor, he pursued a career in manufacturing on Pueblo before being reassigned a Engineer aboard my ship.
I answered a distress call yesterday, flew over 70k to reach the ship which was surrounded by Outcasts, after dealing with the threat I escorted the good man to the nearest base before continuing on my run, never felt so inspired and motivated in all my life after helping him. Which is why Ive signed up for escort duties at Pueblo as a part time basis. I should get a reply in a few days.
I got good and bad news, i guess i'll start at the beginning, the bad news first then.
The Transport ship ATS-Jersey is a fine ship to be flying, great cargo hold, new weapons and shields installed, but big and slow. I only had the ship for two days and only new the crew for two days, but its so hard for me to say. I was responsible for all five of them, but because of me. They are all dead. ATS-Jersey is lost, destroyed.
5-6 Xenos raided Pueblo base, a police Gunboat was present along with me when we saw them approaching in formation from the silverton asteroid field. Ageira regulations dictate that they respect our flight protocols, with no other Ageira ship in the area, it was up to me to maintain order and organise traffic control. Like an unruly mob, they refused to leave the area around the base and opened fire on the Gunboat, he eject before his ship was destroyed. I was still stunned in the heat of the moment, not really knowing what to do, my reaction times to the changing situation was appualing to say the least. I sent a distress call via long range communications to the LSF, i then sent out a system wide automated message telling all non-civilian ships to divert their route away from Pueblo to avoid high casualties. I was so busy looking out for everyone elses safety i forgot that my own safety and more importantly the safety of my crew. The Xenos opened fire on my ship with out warning and whilst i tried to tractor in the Gunboat captains escape pod before engaging cruise engines, my ship was destroyed, i was the only one who ejected in time. Its not a pleasant feeling, drifting in space watching a battle ensue, it seemed like slow motion, my head spinning, hard to focus. It was an adrenalin overload whilst my body tried to prepare itself for the dangerous situation, but my brain wasnt able to compensate for the mental anguish. I blacked out.
Now then, i presume that the LSF and her allies did arrive eventually with enough forces to repel the raid, as i woke on Pueblo base. LSF intelligence estimated around 9 hostile forces in the system, they wasn't keen on walking into an ambush and only 6 Xenos was present at the base, so it took them a while to gather forces. The Xenos had destroyed my second ship and the crew which i was getting to know. I was grounded and sent to Planet Denvor for some R&R whilst the Ageira board of directors assess the situation.
Some good has come out of this, they now understand just how dangerous Pueblo base can be, which slowly but painfully leads me to my good news. After careful consideration by the board of directors and the influence my father has on Denvor they have accepted my application for escort duties around Pueblo, I'm now allowed to use a little more force when it comes to dealing with scum around Pueblo, however, they have expressed their belief to keep the peace around the station and try to solve matters without using force. On top of that, I am also allowed to return to my shipping duties, although i have to pay for a new ship, the board has taken into account that i am one of the few Transport captains with combat experience and that they still need me.
I have learnt alot from my experiences over the past few days, the Xenos have almost lost me my career and have killed people who i trusted and were responsible for. I need to stay focused when danger looms and assess the situation quicker whilst prioritising the crews safety. Turning the worst situations into a positive is the best anyone can do, this has been a learning curve for me and i don't intend to make the same mistakes again.
Its been a while since Ageira wanted me to send a progress report, so I have a lot to say on the matter. Firstly Ill have to mention the Xeno crisis as of late, with Ageiras lack of understanding as to how they are growing so strong and lack of pilots to escort traders. I fought 2 Xenos in Colrado, my ship destroyed their ships with relative ease, later that same day they seemed to of purchased new ships and engaged again, I thought, in my own arrogance that Id be able to destroy them again. They upgraded their weapons systems with the aid of a 3rd Xeno who all engaged me. I realised I had no chance against; I tried to run with no success. My ships hull was being ripped apart. I sent a distress but had no reply. I tried to negotiate our surrender, but they continued to fire, crew sustaining minors injuries the Xenos were determined to make me pay for what had happened earlier that day. With damage report critical I made the decision to abandon ship, the ship didnt blow up completed, it drift in space disabled. My crew and me drifted in space for what seemed like hours before the distress call was answered and someone came by to pick up the escape pods and tractor the damaged vessel to a mooring fixture.
In another encounter with the Xenos, this time fighting with lawful forces whilst on escort duties, my bomber sustained heavy damage and need to be repaired and refitted with an upgraded weapons system, its still not finished completely, but battle ready again.
My transport vessel with 1000 cargo is great, but with the death of a highly respected Ageira Transport captain, I was given the chance to command a better vessel, I had to pay a substantial amount to fix it up as it was in a pirating incident involving Rogue vessels, 2 of crew died excluding the captain. The ship is a large transport, operating with a skeleton crew at the moment. It has a cargo hold of 2000, with has its benefits.
The large transport seemed to attract a lot more pirates, bigger ship means larger cargo meaning more profit for scum like Lane Hackers and Liberty Rogues. I try my hardest to escape them when I can, most of the time successful. Any time I give in to their demands, Im helping them fund their own cause against us, something I will not tolerate. Sometimes the ship takes heavy damage, the other day I had to dock at Baltimore Shipyard, NY for substantial repairs, I took the opportunity to refit the ship with improved counter measure systems, it took hours.
Continuously evading pirates annoys them, I had to hire an escort for my own safety, particularly against a certain character in a Gunboat, I think he is a Rogue not too sure though, criminal scum dont deserve recognition. He was willing to pay 2 million credits for my death, much to his disappointment, I didnt die, and I managed to haul my shipment to Newcastle... just not on time.
I destroyed a civilian ship today; my ship plunged out from the trade lane and collided with a small ship destroying it in the process. The single crewmember managed to eject before the ship was destroyed. I added my condolences to him for the incident whilst taking him to the nearest station. Ageira has stated that they will not reimburse him in the event of a lawsuit as my trader had the right of way.
My shipment of Berylium heading for Pueblo was held up at Manhattan for hours due to a Xeno problem in Colorado, Military forces ensured me they were dealing with the problem, I finally managed to get through to Pueblo to deliver my shipment.
Rough times have shrouded the future with doubt, i have risked my life so recklessly with out noticing the dangers. Space is always more dangerous than one thinks
