Well, as a disclaimer, I have to say that Igiss and Koord and everyone else who did Programming and storyline did an amazing job with Discovery. I could never do it, and it made this community what it is today: Awesome.
I have to say, though, there is one place where I am pretty disappointed at the lack of development: Corporations.
There are certain things about corporations, mainly in Rheinland, that should have happened, but just didn't. Here they are:
1. ALG and Kruger merging. It was said that Kruger and ALG just needed to sign papers and they'd be one company. It shouldn't be all that hard to implement. Just remove 1 faction, and rename another, and reassign the base owners to whichever one is remaining.
2. ALG was drafted by Rheinland to construct the next Battleship for Rheinland at what would become Dortmund Shipyard. Why is it still not a shipyard when Rheinland has five or six capital ships?
3. Atka has been targeted for terraforming several years before the Nomad Wars. It was postponed due to Pirate activity, and Liberty began patrolling the area more effectively. With the increase of activity with Rheinland's military in the border worlds should have only better stopped the pirate acts. Shouldn't Atka begin terraforming projects by now?
4. Mannheim Station says it produces Detretium on its infocard. Why doesn't it sell it?
5. Kruger Minerals wanted to expand into the Sigmas in order to gain a foothold into the Gas Mining business. Where is this expansion? I'd really like to see them in Sigma-19 or maybe even a new system.
6. Something should come from Dark Matter. Two systems full of the stuff, a research station devoted to its study and no one is selling it? It seems kind of odd to me, especially since the Order is actively seeking new types of technology and is already using antimatter.
7. Canterbury Station is the Planetform HQ. It should hold everything necessary for Planetforming. Why aren't there Terraforming Gasses there?
' Wrote:8. It is said that GMG is about to sign new contract with Kishiro and ditch business with Samura. GMG gives Kishiro shipping rights in exchange of newly built gas miners to mine low density fields in Sigma 13.
Was this done?
Well, those are my qualms about corporations, commodities, and other such stuff. Any discussion would be great. If I'm crazy on one or more points, please, tell me, and I'll go head elsewhere with my craziness.
As for solutions, I think I put hose down when I stated the problems. If it isn't explicit, it should be implied. If a solution isn't there, just tell me, and I'll put in what I had in mind.
If this is supposed to be in a different forum, I'll go ahead and message Xoria or any other admin/moderator to move it.
Thanks to anyone who reads it, especially if it turns out to be a wall of text or rant...
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Why would Rheinland draft a waste disposal company to construct gigantic bases and starships when they already have Daumann Heavy Construction to do the task?

Because they can do it cheaper with the scrap metal from Sigma-13.
And don't ask me, it was in the vanilla.

'cause it's merging with Kruger.
I definitely agree with these points. They make a lot of sense, and it would be nice to see some interesting progress.
Well, even if it did merge with Kruger, that would be a waste disposal company merging with a mining company. Interesting point regarding S13 debris, though.
I agree with you on the point of dark matter. It is described and not elaborated upon it's role/use or lack of within vanilla FL, and I imagine they'd probably be doing private experiments to replace MOX reactors with matter/antimatter drives on capships within secret facilities in the Kusari-Liberty interrim systems.
5. Kruger Minerals wanted to expand into the Sigmas in order to gain a foothold into the Gas Mining business. Where is this expansion? I'd really like to see them in Sigma-19 or maybe even a new system.
For this part, I think I can answer it. The 80-Years War between Rheinland and the GMG is heavily related to this. Kruger wanted to establish themselves in Sigma 13 and beyond, but the GMG were resistant to any expansion. Rheinland sent in the fleet, and after a while were beaten back.
The treaty (forgot what it was called) between the Rheinland Government and the Gas Mining Guild states that Rheinland and Kruger ships may not enter GMG space. Likewise, the GMG can't enter Rheinland space.

My concern why Atka's terraforming hasn't begun yet relates to a gameplay issue. Once Planetform moves in for the kill (I have a Gaian), would the Gaian's Zone of Influence change to Liberty? California Minor AND Atka in Bering, all being poisoned by Planetform.
4. Mannheim Station says it produces Detretium on its infocard. Why doesn't it sell it?
Perhaps it only produces Deuterium in small quantities, for the Rheinland Government? That's the only explanation I can think of.

Hope that answers that part.
Well, there are probably more places than what is currently there that have gas. Of course, I thought this unlikely too, but they said they were sending scouts looking for new fields. There is nothing that says that Kruger has to stay out of the Simgas, just out of the GMG's territory, meaning anything south of Helgoland is fair game.

So, the Gaians have to be everywhere Planetform goes? If I'm not mistaken, they can't touch California Minor. Planetform is independent from the Gaians, and, in fact, dislikes them greatly. Gaians don't dictate where Planetform can go. To say that would be like saying that the LWB dictates where Synth can go. Liberty already contacted Planetform before the Nomad Wars to Terraform it, but Planetform postponed it due to the increasing pirate activity. With the increased patrols, what is really stopping Planetform from doing it now?
Detretium is technically preH-Fuel. Mannheim processes the Detretium mined from Heidelburg (priorly Munich) into H-Fuel. If Mannheim can make H-Fuel and sell it commercially from the Detretium they get, why can't sell the Detretium to be refined elsewhere as well?

Probably because it would be bad for business, I'd expect.
