So I'm really very lazy when it comes to shaving so I've ended up with, surprise surprise, a beard of sorts. Now it's not some Comb Your Beard (At Night) effort, but it's made me sort of feel like maintaining some sort of facial hair (the current order of business is just to get rid of it all when I have an important function or whatever to attend). I'm not interested in moustaches, my facial hair grows rather slowly and moustache even moreso... The feeling also annoys the hell out of me.
The only half-serious idea I have now is a good old goatee.
I'm interested to hear/see what sort of facial hair the guys here pack... and while we're at it the few girls can throw in their lot of what they like to see (though I've found the consensus among women tends to be none at all).
This can also serve as a PSA to those still calling me a she; I am in fact a very hairy woman.
EDIT: If it makes any difference, I'm nineteen. I can probably also organise a photo if someone is a bit camp and wants to give personalised tips.
buy hairclippers, and keep it really short, tidy up the stragglers, and keep the neck clear, and you'll be fine. unless you need to wear a gasmask due to the apocalypse, in which case the beard will prevent a good seal, and you'll die from radiation/chemical warfare poisoning

I still get a good seal even with a fairly hefty beard. They checked it when I got the gas mask.
Aestheticly, beards are enitrely subjective. I prefer mine about 1" long and cleanly cropped. I have had very short beards and very long beards. Only thing everybody agrees on is to keep the neck and ears clean, so you dont look like wolfboy.
As for masks, I used a respirator when I painted one of my cars, and I could see where the airflow had gone from the paint streaks in the hair.
Sorta what i sport now, without the 'strap' side of things (though it's less a design choice, and more the fact that the hair on my neck and under my chin annoy me), but for some reason I like the feeling of the hair going of the edge of the chin, which is why I think I will go with...

Yeah, discussion with my D&D group has garnered the same final decision. :yahoo:
Also, I always imagine lokey-poo as a baby-faced brit on whom a beard would seem monstrous.
