Are you guys pulling my leg about the 500 mil requirement? I read these rules about faction requesting and saw mention about buying a zone for 1 bil but nothing about 500 mil for the original request. This is what i read. Is there another requirement list i am missing?
I have not made a faction before, so am curious why would there be that requirement? Our numbers are small at the moment, we are creating our identity as you can see. I had not realy made collecting money for anything other than bounty payouts a priority.

Haha--what universe are you in?
Half the BHs fly around in BCs and often in groups of two--hunting freighters and fighters no less.
They must have missed the office memo

Yeah, they kind of missed the memo. We can't really enforce logic and reason until/unless the proposed ID edits go through, then you won't be able to do bounties in battlecruisers.
Oh yeah ... another bounty hunter faction. I can't wait to see all the additional battle cruisers in Sigma 13 parked in front of Yanagi. Oh for joy ... what a pleasure to have yet another bounty hunter faction.

Why don't you guys just form one big BHG faction ... or have all you bounty hunter factions get together and divide up Sirius into sectors where certain bounty hunter factions have a zone to cover?
And please do me this one favor. Learn this simple word ... proportionality ... its a word found in the Laws of Armed Conflict as designed by the Geneva Conventions. It means you only use the force necessary to effectively neutralize the threat ... you don't drop a nuke on a sniper. So ... why do we see multiple battle cruisers hunting gunboats. Don't you think one at a time is sufficient ... or maybe try scaling down to at least a destroyer.

So far we have not flown a single Cruiser or BCer class ship. I agree the BCer spam is a little extreme. But to be honest they are not that effective against anything but GBs and up.
As far as i can tell there aren't any BHer factions yet. Some that have tried though.

Ok thanks for the link Sovereign. Deep down I hoped you were pulling my leg. This is wierd for me cus it is a faction....and it isn't. Looks like we got a lot more trading ahead of us.
Curious what you think of our RP, the new direction we are currently going. I think the concept is sound.
Don't let Baltar get to you. He's thoughtful, but here and there misses a couple important details, like say, your ship list (:D) and earlier promise not to use disproportionate force.
Brb, skimming through RP....
EDIT: Looks like a better idea than I thought before. While it *is* nice to see someone trying to actually get the Bounty Hunters Guild into, well, a Guild, I would suggest making people ask politely if they can go for BH- before actually doing it. Just in case there's someone you don't want defiling your name, but mainly to keep track of them. Perhaps more of a licensing system, where they post intentions to hunt for you.
I suggest PM'ing one of Trekker, Unselie, or Athenian for some experience in running a bounty board. At the very least I would expect Unselie to be willing to give you a major helping hand, try her first.

That's not entirely fair. Don't tar us all with the same brush. But then I dont get to Sig 13 much.

I've PM'd BH-Office about the proposal.
Try to build the Guild with all the players willing to give a hand and, as i already PMed to you and Sheppard, try to merge. This is the good path to be THE BH Guild. Let the door open to non taged BH. Use the Registration made by R. Fitzgerald. Build a Job board easy to read and updated daily (trough a shared forum account).
Keep the rule of honor (read fairplay) : no bounty can be claimed if the class ship of the BH is superior to the actual target. If pirates IDed are the most hunted then we will see more BH in fighters and gunship.
I'd like to say that the problem is not the Guild itself but the way to have regular contracts. The more we have, the more the bounty hunter Guild need to be organized. At the end, you will give to the Guild herself the organization needed to be feared and respected. While the customers remain the key to promote the Guild.
In a perfect galaxy, we should have one player faction to represent the Guild Core and one organization open to all BH sharing the restriction of the Bounty Hunter Guild. The guildmasters (leaders) have mainly diplomatic and administrative functions. They offer services to other Bounty Hunters, centralize the contracts and take their cut as a service fee. Only the Guild Core can look like a clan/group. They are dedicated to a war purpose. It is where the need of warships appear.
Take you time to build a communication center on the forum and on the server. It will work.
We all need to see far above the clan and think like being already in a faction that just need a structure. I really think that such a BHG faction proposal could become the perfect exemple of what an open faction should be. The reality is that you will sacrifice your time for all the BH player characters. So think about a council or a shared leaderships in order to share the responsabilities and the pressure.
And for the tag ? Someone will take the tag if he is ready to to be in charge, not to join a player faction as all BH are, by definition, already in the Guild. But i bet that if the BH Guild become influent, most characters will take the tag, and most contracts will be given in priority to the Guild.
Oh ! You are missing the most important word in your tag : "GUILD" :)
I really hope that what i suggest will awake some players who want to work together. Communication, exchange between dedicated players to the BHG can promote something big, really big and never seen before.
