After playing various characters, I decided to start some heavyweight RP character... I want to tell you this: He's a malicious and absolutely insane cannibal. Yes, you heard right. He's addicted to eat fresh meat from unsuspicious pilots.
So far no problems came up, but then I came to the point with the rules.
Which ID should a character like him have?
I was thinking of a Terrorist ID, but this is hard to get. PvP whore you might think, but would be kinda wrong.
See, a cannibal like him loves the taste of fresh meat, and only fresh meat. So there's no need to take down every ship within range. (No fridge-freezers on board.)
What do you think: Is it worth, to work on this weird character, or is it kinda perverted to even try to construct it?
Well, I know Ichtan plays a brain-addict... "BRAAAAIIINNNNSSSHHHH!"
A cannibal would be different, I'll grant you that.

Treewyrm Wrote:all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.
If you can pull it off humourously it might be cool, I think a serious killernator flesh eater might be a bit of a downer but a crazy mofo with the munchies might go down well.
As for ID... maybe a crazy assed pirate... the pirate gunboat will certainly look the part!
...those would be my thoughts, I'm sure others will share theirs here soon.
Yes, a little macabre humour would be in, but primarily he would drift somewhere in space, looking for flesh and/or do other weird stuff.
Would some administrator decide, which ID would be better, pirate or terrorist.
In my humble opinion the Terrorist ID would fit a little bit more, because I want to fly him some cruiser or gunboat, which would be extraordinary for a pirate. Furthermore he's not interested in pirating pilots, but eating their flesh.
When it comes to the question of ship... what do you think would be best?
I think of some Outcast or Hessian cruiser called 'The.Flesh.Palace' or something...
Well, the Corsairs had to resort to cannibalism at at least one point in their past to survive the severe food shortages on Crete. Corsair ID/Tagged fighter?
I'd say GB but those get used enough already, and I wouldn't want to crew a ship with a cannibal.
Maybe he liked the taste of flesh when they were forced to eat each other and got addicted?
The problem with a specific faction tag/ID would be the cannibal mind. What if he shots down other Corsairs in order to get fresh meat? ooRP?
Gaians flesh is tasty. ooRP when flying around gathering Gaian pilots?
I think it would be very hard to stay within RP and having a specific faction ID.
hmmm this reminds me of another character on the server.......but i can't for the life of me remember who it is ;)
having a big ship and being a cannibal would be hard to pull off. who would crew with you? unless they were unaware of it....this would make having a faction specific ID workable, and much more interesting.
the psychopathic terrorist role has been covered already, but the "behind closed doors" cannibal would make for some intriguing stories. trying to be descret, not wanting to get caught, trying to live a somewhat normal life, but always having that hunger....that desire for people gumbo.
it doesn't even have to be an unlawful character.....lawfuls can kill pirates all day long.
The choice of an outer shell depends on how you want to portray this character. If you want to write about his addiction and he tries his best to keep it secret from others, you can even go for a police character (one that strangely doesn't returns certain suspects). The possibilities are numerous. Try and think how you want to "interpret" it, that should determine how you'll "appear" in game (to others). Example of this: An spy in game would use the ID of that organization which he is spying, not the ID from the organization he's spying upon.
Some kind of Disco-incarnation of Hannibal Lecter, maybe even serving a major corporation, but being a distorted cannibal secretly? Sounds like very interesting roleplay to me.
A problem might be that you'd need to try to keep it not-too-graphic, since we have players of all sorts of ages here.
The problem with playing this as a lawful character (in game) is getting your teeth into player characters. If you attack one and you're lawfully tagged and IDd you're going to find sanctions coming your way, however good your RP may be. :(
