I have a wishlist for the ships I want to buy in this game. Right now I managed to get enough money to afford a capital ship but I'd like to chose one and have some fun with it, not just fly it and admire its looks due to inactivity in the sector.
The ships on my wishlist are:
Cruisers
Corvo
Battlecruisers
Komainu
Battleships
Togo
Ranseur
Elbe
Jormungand
What I'm asking you is where the action is and which ship do you recommend me from that list.
At first, I'd say that the Corvo is excluded from the start since zoners don't have any real enemies. That leaves me with the others and from what I've seen since I came back to this game (1 or 2 weeks ago).
Komainu and Togo are also excluded. I've been looking to the players online list from time to time and I've seen just a few traders in Kusari. Now I don't know about the exiles. Are there any exile groups? Do they get in involved in cap battles?
Ranseur is great now but since CR vanished from the Taus... what's there to shoot? IMG? Also, are they still organizing Gamma raids from time to time? Or do the sairs come to Alpha? Is the Ranseur able to take on the Valor one on one?
Now, Jormungand seems like a nice addition but can anyone teach me to be a hessian? I've had very few interractions with the Rheinland unlawfulls in the past. Actually, I've been in Rheinland less than in any other region in Sirius. Don't ask why because I have no idea.
End finally, the ship that seems to be the coolest, the Elbe. Is it good? Are there still Texas raids? Where else can the RM get a nice capital ships battle?

Ranseurs now are mainly used for either assaults on the IMG, defense against the Council (and sometimes old =CR= guys), and aiding LR with whatever, most notably and recently the war with HF. We don't usually fight sairs anymore. Sometimes, yea, but not usually.
Hm. U can create activity pn Togo. Go to the KSP or GMG base and start to destroy it. I assure u in 10-20 minutes KNF and GMG guys will log in and attack u
I will give you my thoughts on this, and then you can decide. Since you boiled it down to two final candidates, and I have one of each, I'll just focus on those.
Jormungand... What can I say? Definetly one of the best caps in the battleship/carrier/dread-class. It's really small, and thus hard to hit from distance. Really good turret placement, with a minus for the fact that two of the class 10 slots only fire backwards. Up front it has one class 10 + the forward gun, so it still packs a heavy punch forward. But don't think you'll be able to tank a Legate or a Turtle, and live to tell about it. An absolute favourite!
Elbe... I just recently got this one myself, but from what I've seen so far, it's excellent against snubs, GB's and probably also vs cruisers. It's very agile, and strafes really well. It has two class 10 slots, and here's the bad part. None of them fire straight to the rear. One of them has 180 degrees forward, and the other on has ~340 degrees forward. Personally I use a razor for the 180-slot and a missile on the other. Those who know how to use Ossies properly, will probably also get along fine with this one.
Feel free to bump me in PM or in Skype (I think you already have it) if you wanna have a chat. I'd be glad to tell you more if you want. I think you'll get the most for your money if you go for the Jorm.
Some of us DO find it fun to fly a cap, and want to have fun in caps. They are there, we like them.
I can easily say you don't need to fly a fighter to have fun.
No need to play freelancer to get fun.
But anyhow, everyone enjoy what he wants.
As for me - it is easier to get cheap snub and play in it. So much thrill.
