Life in 795AS was always considered a peaceful time. No major wars, no conflicts, and the most
you would hear of, was a repelled pirate raid on a remote trade lane. The perfect time for Maria
(Now heavily pregnant with their third son) and Johanson to get settled down with their sons and
daughter. Johanson aged at 42 and Maria aged 39, they already had 2 sons, Mark and Philip, aged
6 and 4 respectively, and their daughter, Jennifer was the eldest at 12. The family moved to a small
village on Planet Denver. A quiet little place known as Cherry Creek. The family had settled down
into one of the larger sized houses, as they weren’t short of money at the time. The family had only
just settled in when Maria gave birth to their final child, Jay. The final piece and member of the family.
* 5 Years Later, the 'Nomad War' *
During the Nomad War of 800-801AS, Jay's parents almost carried on their lives in Interspace
Commerce as normal, with Johnason being a mediocre escort pilot and Maria being an Insurance
Advisor. Jennifer, now 17, was training to follow in her mothers footsteps and was at college, in the
Denver University Of Accounting and Finance. The three lads, Jay, Mark and Philip where under
full time care of a baby-sitter. The still young Jay was always well behaved as a young child, but
always had a strange obsession with guns and fighter jets. His brothers, Mark and Philip where both
more into civilian based jobs. Mark was into poetry and writing stories, Philip more interested in
building and ship constructions. It was on a fateful day, toward the end of 800AS that the neither of
the parents had returned. However, on some nights this would happen, and the boys would have to
look after themselves. However, this started happening every day for a few weeks before the news
was put on.
An ageing man, around 55 – 60 years sitting in a chair is seen on the TV, reading out the daily
news, and out of all the news, there is one bit that catches the ears of the Wilcott brothers, “Several
Interspace Commerce ships have been lost during a trade convoy that has resulted in all the ships
going missing, the ships tagged as IC Margo, Red.Star and the UDV Great.Chissick, along with
their escort fighters. Up on the screen now, are the names of those lost.” The screen goes dark for a
second, and around a hundred names show along the screen, none of which any of the boys knew,
until near the end, two very, very familiar names pop up on screen. Maria and Johanson Wilcott's
names appeared. After the last names appear, the children turn off the TV and sit for a moment in
silence.
“That's... Not... That's not possible... How can an entire convoy disappear..” The kids where in
shock, no one had expected anything like this. Not only now, are their parents missing, it's like no
one knows where they are, it's as if there's just a stream of missing ships, as if they where entering
a jump gate, and not appearing out the other side, with their communications all cut or destroyed.
This was one of many faults believed to be in Jump Gate technology.
The boys spent the next few days in isolation, not really understanding death that well. They would
have never have guessed their parents would have died so early on in their lives.
Around a week later, there was still no news on the boy's parents, and it was believed that they
where dead. However, the boys still waited for their parents return and after a while, they just had to
carry on.
That night, a strange figure in the shape of a nomad fighter, but about the size of a new-born baby,
appeared behind Jay's bedsit and placed an item not to far from him. It feels as though time has
stopped, and the clock in the room stops still. The figure then spoke directly into Jay's mind “This....
This item is a blood stone. Don't loose this one. It may kill you. It's a gift.” The child carried on
sleeping, unaware of what was going on. The figure arched itself over the bed and rested inside
the bed. “From the people who took your parents, to the person who will revenge them. You
wont know what to do, until the time comes, you will never know it's purpose, until it has been
served, but do not loose it” The figure disappears, re-appearing a few minutes later hovering off
the ground. “Jay Wilcott, you will follow your dreams, and fulfil your destiny, but keep it safe, and
it will keep you safe. Only give it to the one person you feel comfortable telling this to. You will
never know me, but you will always, always know my words.”
As time begins again, a strange flash fills the room, blue in colour and as bright as a sun, it
disappears after after 5 seconds. The Blood Diamond placed by Jay's bed glows slightly and
markings appear on it, revealing the young child's name in Nomadic symbols.
The young Jay wakes up and switches on a bed side light. After a few seconds, he notices the blood
diamond and begins to study it, as any child would do, and places it in a drawer for later studying.
As he slips it into the draw and closes it, the drawer shudders and flies open, the diamond rests itself
next to the young child and glows a diminished red colour. Having just witnessed the drawers flying
open, the young child panics and panics, shuddering and whimpering. Eventually, he calms down
after a minute or so, the words of the strange figure begin to set in and the child falls asleep again.
“Jay! Wake up!” A voice was calling him, was he still asleep? “Jay! For the love of god, child...”
The baby-sitter runs in, almost panicking.
The baby-sitter notices the blood diamond and asks, “Jay, what's this? Where did you get it” After
a minute, he notices the markings and looks worried, gives the item back to the child and promptly
leaves the room.
The child begins to keep the Diamond not too far from his personal possession, almost religiously. * 810AS, 10 years after the Nomad War and the death of Johanson and Marie Wilcott *
Mark and Philip where still living at home, looking after Jay most of the time, trying to stop him
from turning into a typical gang dweller. All of the boys had never been to school at this point, only
ever learning what they know from being out and about and what they learn from the news. They
where all close nit and worked together. Mark, now 21, was working part time to help the other two
get by and live. They never had life easy, but as 3 boys who refused to go to an orphanage, there
wasn't much they almost couldn't accomplish. Philip and Jay where usually out on the streets either
trying to get jobs or find any form of work for those few credits for the next meals.
The Blood Stone was now in Jay's permanent grip or reach, never more than a metre away from
him, he had been studying the markings and trying to figure out what they meant, but all of his
results conflicted and gave different evidence each time he found out something new. The only
thing that was concrete, was that the markings on this specific trinket, was a name. Specifically,
his. It wasn't written in any form of human and that the only two things it could be written in where

As they where walking down the street, handing out information about themselves for jobs, a
person, around 18-21 years old eyes up the Wilcott boys and walks head first into Jay. After not
expecting it and landing on the floor, Jay gets up and confronts the man. “Better watch where the
hell you're going mate, you don't want to start this crap. Just be on your way. I don't want any
trouble.”
The man smiles at him, and in a hoarse and almost evil voice just laughs and replies, “You're gonna
get trouble kid. I don't appreciate you, your brother, walkin' down here every day trying to get jobs,
hasslin' everyone ya see. So, small word of advice, kiddo. You get lost, yea, and save yourself a trip
to hospital.” The guy was fairly well built, fair skinned, he looked like the sort of person who was more talk than action.
“All right mate, I tell you what” Jay grinned, knowing what was about to happen, “You walk on, we
pretend we never met, and me and my brother carry on trying to make a living, yea. And you won't
ever bump into someone unless you can back it up,” Jay cracks his knuckles and begins to prepare
himself mentally for the man to strike him. Philip just stood back, knowing exactly what was about
to happen.
“Okay kid, you've had your fun!” Without further warning, the man makes to punch Jay around the
temple, closing his eyes, as if using all his force and effort. Jay simply shrugs and just as the man
starts swinging in an arc, he grabs the man’s wrist and uses his momentum to grab him off balance,
kneeing him in the stomach, winding him. Just as he is half way through bending over in pain,
Jay swings his right arm, whilst still in grip of the man's arm, and smashes the man so hard in the
temple, that for a split second, it almost felt like he had dented the guys skull.
“As I said...” Jay said to the guy as he gently put him down,, “I didn't want trouble.” The man was
now limp and lifeless, as if every bit of him had just been knocked out of his brain.
“Jay, for the love of god, if you do that to one more person.. I'm goin' to have to lock you up in
doors”. Philip was annoyed, after Jay having just hit someone for walking into him. There where
sirens in the background as if the authorities had already found out. There was a man lying on the
ground not 5 feet away from both Jay and Philip, alive, but not moving. “Jay... Let's go... You don't
want to end up in handcuffs.”
“You're tellin' me... But this pile of crap walked into me, and said it was MY fault. I'm not standing
for that crap.” He was calm as ever. He was a well built person, even now, but wasn’t the sort of
person to ever hit someone. He felt the blood diamond digging into his leg, as if telling him to kill
the person lying on the floor, but Jay resisted any temptation. “Philip, we need to go... You know
why.”
“Is it happening again? Is that god-damn trinket giving you hints and ideas again?” Philip was
concerned, his voice edgy, as if expecting Jay to flip.
“Don't worry, lets go, we don't want to cause a scene. Lets just go home.” Jay wasn't concerned,
still calm as always and tries to usher Philip home. As they nearly get back, they see their house and
Mark's Starblazer outside. The ship was unscratched as always, but the engines where still glowing,
obviously just came home. “Seems that Mark made it back before us... Makes a change...” Philip
checks his watch and raises an eyebrow.
“3:15... He shouldn't be back for at LEAST another 4 hours... What the hell...” Philip sounded a bit
annoyed, yet his facial expressions where concerned more than annoyed. As they started to walk
towards the ship, they noticed that Mark was still in. “Mark, what's happened?” After a short reply,
Mark falls out of his seat, unconscious. “Mark!” The other two boys rush into the cockpit to grab
their brother, just as they do, he opens his eyes, and looks around, not recognising his own brothers,
he looks at them with a really worried and scared expression on his face and he starts shaking in
fear.
