Okay, so first of all, this thread has no real purpose.
This is just an RP idea I had once, so if anyone wants to pick it up, just do it.
ID: Pirate ID
IFF: None/Freelancer
Ships: Mostly bombers, one flagship, a SRP dessie or a SRP slave liner.
The overall idea behind this setup are high tech pirates, unaffiliated, independent from all and everyone, are specializing in technology theft.
In other words, these pirates have a mobile, self sustained fleet consisting out of a main flagship/workshop and a group of bombers, who attack military and pirate targets alike, robbing them of any kind of technology: Picked up npc guns, codenames, unmounted internal equipment and so forth. The fleet in RP is sustained by occasionally attacking civilian targets hauling fuel or hull alloy. All repairs are done in space and by their own crew. A mobile fleet, which acts like a base. The flagship is most probably a cloaking liner.
OORP, obviously, the group will dock on the barrier gate to resupply. They do not affiliate themselves with anyone and only offer technology in exchange for cold credits. Even to the groups they attack. Efficiently, they are ''red'' to any and all groups apart from Freelancers due to in-game limitations.
The Junker ID was a good choice a while back, before the ban on piracy in house space, but now it seems that it is not a good choice not only because the piracy limitations only being lifted in Kusari, but also because it would cause problems for the .:j:.
If anyone wants to try something like this, do it. It is a nice little RP idea with a twist, so I would be happy to see it being used. You do not have to consult me if you are going to do this and feel free to add/remove any parts of it for your own benefit.
EDIT: Yes, this is basically a FL version of the Brotherhood Outcasts from Fallout 3.

See I was thinking of doing a similar idea to this however, having a jumping battleship for the flagship, with full fleet using cloaks. How hard would it be to obtain a SRP for a battleship for a faction like this?
Pretty hard, since its main income is piracy. Pirate ID would have to work hard to obtain a battleship. I suggest an unarmored lux liner with a cloak, since it can cloak for 46 minutes with mox.

This would be interesting for targetting those base-supplies traders, so they have to hire escorts or sth. Imagine, if the group gathered materials like the ones used for bases....
I was thinking of RPing something like Cowboy Bebop; where you'd have two mercs in snubs and a Junker or something in a Pilgrim. Earning cash via bounties instead of piracy.
