I've been attempting to get this ship. It's in the list for independent miners on all of the guides. After a hellacious trip from Penn to Tau 23 I got refused entry to the only station selling this ship aside from the Xeno Guard.

Let me get this straight.
Independent Miner's Guild refuses pilot access to indie ship for his independent mining operations.
The only way that I can see this working is if I sell my Miner's ID, buy a new ID, buy the ship, sell my ID, and buy a new Miner's ID. I'm doing a small-time operation with a couple folks so joining a Faction is not realistic.
Am I missing something? Is this an IMG-only ship? It should really be indicated in the various guides around if so. If anyone could give me some explanation on this I'd be quite grateful. This ship is sexy as hell.
The Spatial is a civilian ship. However, the way things are being the way things are, there are only one or two sell points for certain ships, even though they are civilian ships usuable by all.
Your Miner ID means you are a competitor, so you are unable to dock on any mining group's base.
Next time, set up your ship first before buying your ID.
Also, with regards to your flying all the way to Tau-23, check your repsheet first next time. 5 and a half blocks red means no docking. Furthermore, I do believe it is stated in your Miner ID that you cannot dock on IMG bases.
Thanks for the swift reply dude. I ended up doing a liberty restart and picking up the ship before mounting the ID.
Good to know about the rep though, I'll keep that in mind.
Typically, you'd want a Recruit ID, get set up, get your reps sorted, and then get the ID you need. Since ships on a Miner ID are forbidden from landing on IMG stations by the ID itself, you shouldn't be surprised at the rephack. Land on Freeport 6, grab a recruit ID, shoot 3 'cast snubs, then go to Java to buy the Spatial, and then back to the Freeport for the indy miner ID.
In 4.87 the Spatial will be available in a few other places and this workaround will no longer be needed.

The main issue (IMO) is why Miner ID is rephacked from docking on IMG bases. I mean, it IS called the INDEPENDENT Miners Guild...why would they ban non-guild independent miners from docking? All those potential recruits...! Also, Miner ID is sold on bases which, if you mount it, you cannot dock on. Doesn't make sense, and confused the heck out of me, too, when I first started...
