I would believe that Italy, France and Australia or Scandanavia would have a 'covert' or destroyed sleeper ship, since they are Democracies and most likely allied to the Alliance.
If I remember the start of Starlancer right, the Italian and French fleets were annihilated by a Coalition surprise attack.:(
If Australia had one, it more than likely had settlers from all the 'Kiwi Islands', a mixed and vibrant culture.
I wouldn't shun the Canadians from having one, since in itself is a very large and resourceful country.
The only source for 8 sleeper ships is developer documents which have never been canonized and the word of a single Maltan bartender, which contradicts the word of Atticus Rockford, who was actually at the battle.
So, there were 5 launched, at the very least. If there were more (and why does everyone act like a bartender on Malta is worth so much as a source on this? By that standard, I can prove Elvis is alive by going to the local pub and getting the word of a barfly who met him), they weren't launched, and thus were destroyed.
Well, rumours/=/fact. The facts show that there were 5 launched (it says "In desperation, the Alliance launched 5 sleeper ships"), and all of them escaped, as I have shown above.
Well the guy who said "In desperation, the Alliance launched 5 sleeper ships" -if we aren't going by the extended intro - was ON one of those five, most likely the Liberty. If more were launched afterwards, he wouldn't have known. He was already on his way to Sirius.
@Ady - If you were about to be killed, would you escape with your next-door neighbor or your ex-wife who's an ocean away?
I'd agree with you there.. I'd personally like to see an Australia system (perhaps a prison system for Bretonia?) and a New Zealand system, along with making Canadian systems Bretonian colonies.
@Dopamino; As I said, I'm going by the canon intro. Not the shorter, in-game one. And since in the non-canon intro, there's no mention of Sol getting blown up, there are lots of other possibilties for the guy's identity. But, as I said, it's a moot ppint anyway.
Well, there is no definite answer. There's evidence to support both of us (although it seems Igiss is going with the 8 sleeper ship theory).
8 sleeper ship evidence: Malta bartender, developers documents
5 sleeper ship evidence: Game intro
If I forgot any extra evidence, tell me.
