So, I've just been spending some time, derping around on the forums and 9gag, when suddenly I had an idea.
The Hispania, as I assume everyone knows, is still floating around in orbit over Malta. If you fly into it, you can still see numerous cryopods of which most, I assume, are empty. But, I can also imagine that, due to the damage dealt to the ship by the Coalition saboteurs, not all pods could be accessed when the ship arrived in Omicron Alpha.
So, since the pods remained untouched for the past 800 years, and the cold of space didn't really warm them up, it could actually be possible that a guy who was not awoken upon arrival in the system, could have remained in cryogenic suspension for those few hundred years. Right?
So, my idea is to RP a dude - an original Sol inhabitant - who, by sheer chance of his pod finally kinda failing, or by being found by some pilot who was flying around in the Hispania wreck, is finally awoken and thrown into this, for him, new world.
Now, this all may seem a bit extremely far-fetched, but then again, we have furries and a planet inhabited by apes. And thirteen year old fleet admirals.
So, what I want to know from you guys is a) how I can go about this idea of mine (ideas to make it more logical, suggestions on how to start it off, etc.) and b) is it even a good idea? Worth playing?
It could make some sense, depending on how efficient the cryopods were (obviously not intended to run this long though) and how damaged the core and other power components were.
The problem is that the Hispania probably didn't have enough power to keep pods going all that time. Otherwise, if the pod was actually working... who knows.
I would say go ahead and do it. It's definitely something interesting to do, but expect people to laugh or just deny the idea

The way I had it go for the amount of time was that the individual pods had solar panels that harvested light from the Alpha star to keep going

The French reconstructed their own sleeper ship and arrived in the smaller sector that became Gallia ~80 years after the rest of the Alliance arrived in Sirius. I assume like the others it was disassembled for materials, and they don't seem to have rebuilt it as a monument like Liberty.

If your originally a Sol pilot, make sure you go and pick the correct ID.
AI would be the only sensible ID in this case as its been 800 years since people left Sol, so they probally arnt alive anymore. :p then again, I dunno when AI was invented in freelancer either XD
ALso. note that gallic sleepship may have arrived later, but there are supposedly more generations on it.
I also like the idea, if RP'd well enough and if you find others that will RP, that could quite possible manipulate your char etc ;P
