This is the thread where you may post all your thoughts, suggestions, ideas about the new Discovery beta - 4.79 beta 4 (http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=952). Here you should also post bug reports about different things that you found wrong.
I'll give a brief list of testing priorities for new version.
Errors:
- Bugs of different kinds (crashes, flaws, general bugs, etc);
- Infocards (descriptions, stats);
- Object placement (like Battleship Isis - already fixed);
- New music, sounds - if they sound wrong.
Balance:
- Power of turrets, capital ship turrets in particular;
- Shield power;
- Ship balance - number of turrets, energy usage, maneuverability.
So... What happened to the Marsflyer? It was made VERY slow, and weak. You have removed one of its mounts and weakened the only guns on it that are even worthwhile.
Ok on the info card for the Osiris it say it can mount 12 turrets, but in reality only 10, now this maybe be because you had to change it due to me hearing that there was a bug with it before the mod was realised, but either way im just happy the osiris has more turrets :D
Hm... One more thing... A couple of the turrets on the Liberty Cruiser that would logically be forward firing are rear firing. Afterall, I would assume that's mostly a FORWARD firing ship, right?
Could turrets 4 and 5 be turned forward? The ones on the side that the missiles are attached to with the default set-up. And possibly 3? Three is on top just behind, what I think is, the bridge of the ship.
Please? It would make the ship far more usefull? At the moment, it only has the forward guns and two forward firing turrets...
I tried selling all my hardware, and I still had six turrets showing. I had to hack my account to remove them (they were the six turret slots you removed, Igiss)

No it's not. It's an alien toy. As most members were in favour of removing this ship at all, this seems appropriate. No?

All capital ships from where turrets were removed (Battlestars, Kusari Battleship, Rheinland Battleship, Huegenot) have the same problem. Eventually I was mistaken... I thought that players will be able to unequip weapons after the change, but they are not. Moreover, the weapons from disabled slots can fire normally, that I also couldn't predict.
Therefore, you may either post here the types of weapons you cannot unmount and I'll unmount them manually, or stay with those weapons mounted... unfortunately, there's no other solution.
Osiris is meant to have 12 turrets, and it will. As for Liberty Cruiser, I'll see what can be done.
What current one? Effects are now different for various weapons. Rheinland and Bretonia have plasma effects... Liberty has normal ones, and Kusari has some other sound. As for new weapons, they are now different too.

Virus you have to ask the queston, which is more important? The marsflyer or keeping all the cap-ships balanced? A BS Adv. could take down my Osiris with marsflyers when I had 2 BRs, 2 infernos, and 2 heavy mortars.
