My name is Samuel Dravis, a representative for the Concordance Extraction Corporation. I doubt that any of you have heard much about us before now, and that is to be expected. Most of our work has been carried out in relative seclusion and privacy on various research stations.
I am contacting you in regards to a new business opportunity. For a long time now your various houses have battled for control over resources to fuel your various industries, only to be challenged time and again by independent corporations such as the IMG. We at the CEC believe we have the answer to your problems.
Through years of patient research we here at the CEC have developed blueprints for a most impressive new ship that can mine entire planets by pulling them apart via gravity teathers. We call this process planet-cracking. Unfortunately our corporation does not have the funds or facilities needed to build a working prototype. Which is why we have turned to you.
With your help we may advance the cause of human progress. Each house would, of course, receive their own Planet-cracker class mining ship in due time. But to do so we require a small team of your best scientific minds and funding. The prototype would be built in a neutral location devoid of house influence, to avoid the appearance of favoritism.
Again, your help is vital to this projects success. Project Ishimura's success or failure rests on your shoulders.
We at the Concordance Extraction Corporation eagerly await your response.

First allow me to thank you for contacting Samura in regards to this project.
As an industry leader in this field, and indeed many others, it would make sense that we would be able to lend our expertise towards this endeavor.
However Samura Omotai Zaibatsu must regrettably inform you that we will not be taking part in this project as it goes against the very essence of what Samura stands for.
We here at Samura always try to work within the ecology of our surroundings and find the idea of the destruction of an entire planetary body to gain access to the small amount of valuables inside, quite abhorrent.
As such, not only will we be not involved in this endeavor, but we will be attempting to block this project from having any influence in Kusari or it's surrounding systems.
If some of the corporations we do business with got their hands on vessels like this, there would be nothing left for our children's children to enjoy here in Sirius.
As such please consider this a denial of your request on behalf of Samura Omotai Zaibatsu.
Now Mr Dravis, that's an interesting proposal you've got right there. We think you're spot on that independent corporations cause a right problem for us. However, your proposal has more than enough problems to dissuade us from jumping straight into it.
It's all well and good to say you can mine an entire planet, but what risks does that have? Is a planet summarily destroyed? Is its mantle flicked out into space as molten degree? Can the process be enacted on an inhabited planet?
Before I can even ask those questions though, we have to ask what have you done; what can you offer in solid evidence of your work to encourage us to invest in this? You say you require our facilties to build a prototype in one breath, and ask for our best and brightest to research the matter in another. Do you have a theoretically functional blueprint or not?
We're interested in your proposal Mr Dravis, but the matter is that if the product would be offered to all investors, what's the point in our investing in it?
It is with the greatest respect that I receive the news of your opposition to our project. From those of us here at the CEC, thank you for your swift response and honesty concerning this matter. We will, of course, continue looking for investors in the hope of building a functional prototype. Rest assured, we would never use such a device in Kusari space without proper permission.
Highest regards,

My apologies for any confusion regarding our initial proposal. We do indeed have a theoretically functional blueprint that has taken our scientists a better part of a decade to refine. I made a clerical error in my initial document; what I meant to ask for was manpower. To build a working prototype we would need a sizable workforce. Of course, should you wish to send a small compliment of scientists to verify our proposal, we would not be opposed.
Now to the risks: The process of planet-cracking has never been done before, and as such there are some factors that cannot be accounted for. However, the projected cost required to mine in this manner are only practical if the entire planet is consumed. Therefore, it is highly likely that planet-cracking will alter the natural structure of whatever system the target planet inhabits. As such, it is inadvisable to employ this technique in an inhabited system, let alone an inhabited planet.
Our calculations show intense seismic activity should be expected during operations of this sort; such that would easily endanger major centers of civilization were they located on said planet. There is also the danger of mechanical failure to consider. Should the gravity tethers fail, or the central gravitational centrifuge fail resulting in an emergency abortion, the entirety of the planetary mass currently suspended over the planet would come plummeting back into the gravity well and impact would likely destroy any life located on the surface.
To offset the risks, our calculations also show that this method can result in a recovery percentage of just over 83% of the planet's entire offerings. That is nearly a 110% increase over traditional mining methods. Additionally, the process of smelting an entire planet would take several years, guaranteeing a steady stream of resources while also ensuring that entire solar systems won't disappear overnight.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, or so I am told. This is by no means a method to be employed lightly. But this is a desperate time, is it not?
I hope I have answered any concerns you may have had, but I welcome further inquiries as they arise.
Signed,

Guten Abend Herr Dravis!
In the past days, we have been reviewing your transmission. To be hones we were skeptical of your project, and some of the board members still are, and believe this is a hoax, or a scam. Economic advisors assure us that if actually possible, securing a contract to do so would be easy for a corporation like DHC; however our legal department pointed out the legality of such technology. Have you inquired on the legal status of the application of this? We suppose you have contacted the different governments to ask for their point of view on a project of this magnitude, we'd like to know what their answers are.
You've offered yet another fresh batch of sales pitch that the entire board points out is riddled with contradictions and further flaws. Even the guy in the corner we don't listen to pointed out a few.
The supposed clerical error of yours in asking for our top men is of such a magnitude it seems to be unrelated to your keyboard. Your transmissions seem so unprofessional in this manner that we're unsure as to their veracity, let alone how good an idea it is.
I don't know personally of a single system, nevermind one which is Bretonian, which isn't inhabited. As a result, the apparent number of safe targets would be zero. Even then you say an entire planet would be consumed while only debating the risks of the process on any inhabitants.
And while it may be a desperate time for us, when is it not, and does that statement apply to all of your potential investors?

Konnichiwa Davis-san. Unfortunately Kishiro Technology not intrested in your proposition. We don't believe that this project have any future and preffer to keep our top scientists working on realistic projects instead of wasting time on not grounded theory.
