I'm trying another server tool for Discovery Freelancer 24/7. It's called FLHook, and it's only tool alike FLShell that might make our life easier and make our server better. FLShell didn't work in a number of ways... I don't know why exactly, but it didn't respond to some commands.
FLHook is simplier, but it does several important tasks that FLShell does not (although in general FLShell is more sophisticated).
So, here's a brief list of most obvious changes.
1) New death messages - now cause of death is displayed.
2) F1/Disconnect prevention - when player is in space and uses F1 to disconnect or uses alt-f4 to quit game, his/her spaceship will remain in space for specific amount of time. For now the time is 10000 ms. During this time, "your account is already in use" will be displayed if trying to reconnect.
If character is docked, there will be no delays.
3) Anti-dockkilling - while being dockkill-protected, the player can't be damaged by other players and can't damage other players himself. For now time delay is 6000 ms.
4) Autobuy: not tested yet, but this thing should allow players to autobuy certain equipment (like ammo) each time when entering bases.
5) Ability to run many admin commands in-game or via console. For example, we'll be able to change names 'on the run' without need to wait for server restart.
Note that I'm only testing the tool yet, so issues may arise. Although, taking into account how simple (relatively simple) it is in comparison to flshell, I don't expect any serious problems.
Thats good to hear especially the F1 disconnect thing. But in some cases the person F1ing out might have a real life issue and if they are in the unknowns or certain omicrons they could be killed by nomad NCP's and lose valuable equipment. This is a problem as compensation for these ppl could lead to some ppl( not blaming anyone so no one get any ideas) pretending to make some cash. There r pros and cons and other ppls input on this matter should be listened too.

I have seen the death notice on another *cough* server that I popped onto once ...
Love the one that says /"Name" forgot the NPCs are armed too.
Nice touch.

Well, I salute everything so funny and usefull... also... I think that the 10 sec limit is OK, as NO NPC can kill you in 10 sec.

Just discovered an interesting quirk with the tool. Dropped the game down to do
something else for a while. Came back on to be told .....

Oh well, you can sit OUTSIDE a base if you really want to
