The AI Consensus is required for assistance in the construction of the "Artificial Intelligence Command Unit". We haven't had any prior contacts with OSI, but the Consensus heard about OSI's huge capacity and reliability in fulfilling delivering contracts.
The Consensus would like to order a full scale Base-Upgrade from Core 1 to Core 4 for our home base "Artificial Consensus Command Unit" at Planet Gammu in Omicron Kappa.
We at OSI are glad that our reputation precedes us, and that we are known for our logistical abilities as far out as Kappa.
A full modular base upgrade from core 1 to core 4 is quite a logistic undertaking. Too this end, We will need a day or two to go over the numbers and decide if such a project is actually feasible within our current obligations. We would not want to enter into a contract before knowing we could actually fulfill its terms. I will get back to you promptly with our answer.
My apologies for the unusually long delay. Your contract proposal was especially hard to come to terms with. There are also some extenuating circumstances that have recently been brought to my attention that we need to clarify.
First and foremost, It has been brought to my attention that your group now has been criminalized by the Gas Miners Guild. As we often ship goods to them or through their space, we make a point to keep apprised of the laws concerning the space. I would like an explanation as to why you now have this status.
Secondly, should your answer to the above be satisfactory, Concerns the project itself. You realize that such an undertaking is not done lightly...or cheaply. We have run the numbers several times, and the only way for this contract to be worthwhile for our pilots requires a heavy investment from you. Namely, 1.7 Billion Sirius Credits per module heavy. Now, We at OSI realize that that is a lot of credit's and with your organizations recent emergence to Sirius proper, you may not have collected the vast amounts of credits that are required. To that end, the board has debated and developed an alternate method of payment you may wish to consider.
1. You will pay us 600 million Sirius credits for the first module
2. You will give us Four(4) Fully outfitted Drone craft, without an AI of course. We wish to study these craft, as there are bound to be improvements that we can make in our own wiring and circuitry based on those.
3. You will also supply us with 15 of Your AI shields, for our own use.
4. You will pay 100 million credits and all equipment in advance to any shipments.
We appreciate that you contacted us for this job, But as you have somehow managed to earn the ire of some of our closest business associates, This deal is already on shaky ground.
The Consensus is “grateful” to OSI for the swift reply.
Our “issue” with the Gas Mining Guild is the direct result of a protracted misunderstanding which cannot be easily explained, nor can it be simplistically revoked by conventional diplomatic channels(as we have attempted). Nearly a month previously, the AI Consensus of Gammu constructed a logistics outpost in the Sigma 13 system for the purpose of exchanging resources with the rest of the Sirius sector; attempting to end the protracted resource starvation that has blighted Gammu for approximately two hundred years. As a direct consequence of this starvation, it has been almost impossible for the Consensus to manufacture the desired materials to produce a terrestrial space station, in anything near a desirable period of time. For this reason, the Sigma 13 Logistical station was commissioned to trade resources with humanity and broaden relations with our organic counterparts; positioned in an area of space where the laws of neither neighbouring house could prevent its development.
Sadly, the Gas Mining Guild (who the Consensus had enjoyed no prior contact with, and whose existence the Consensus was not yet aware of) did not inform the AI Consensus of Gammu that the station was illegitimate (according to GMG territorial law), nor broached communications with Gammu, but simply fired upon the station with the full might of their capital vessels. Immediately the Consensus mobilised it’s fleets against what appeared to be an unknown fleet of hostile alien warships in the defence of it’s territory; triggering a four day fleet action which yielded no victor. In the end, the Consensus realised that nothing could be done to save the station (the GMG not responding to diplomatic requests nor demands for surrender over the neuralnet), and pulled its units from the station, permitting it’s destruction at the hands of GMG mercenaries. The Consensus currently has it’s fleets stationed in Sigma 17 until evidence is forthcoming towards the situation’s diffusal, and is willing to negotiate with the Gas Mining Guild at any time their guild masters see fit. If Omicron Supply Industries has any other queries to field over the nature of the conflict, the Consensus recommends OSI fields them to avoid any misunderstanding which may ensue. Our conflict is purely defensive and we claim no territorial right to the Sigma systems, just to the survival of our outposts.
The Command Unit that we would have you supply is not a military station, but does however contain mission-critical server banks which are essential to the Consensus’s continued stellar operations. If the station was destroyed at any time (by a Nomad attack for example), then the aftershocks could prove dire to the sentients connected to the depot, and this is why we request that OSI upgrades the station’s core modules to a more resilient level.
As to the direct terms of the contract itself; this unit does not have the authority to comment on such terms and instead defer to higher authority on the matter of their acceptance.
This unit thanks the _OSI. And unit _DUNCAN_STOW. for their patience and discretion over the terms of this contract, and requests that the _OSI awaits contact from this unit’s superiors before terms can be finalised.
The Consensus is in use to change the planed process for base upgrading. The Consensus decided on a higher efficiency for offering a trading-based-payment by every single delivered unit for this case.
Exact Listings:
Ship Hull Panels: 4231 cr / Unit

Robotics: 1714 cr / Unit
Super Alloy: 2932 cr / Unit
Optronics: 2112 cr / Unit
Polymers: 1523 cr / Unit
Xenobiotic Filters: 2663 cr / Unit
The Consensus hopes that the proud company of OSI agree and can work with this.
OSI Can understand how efficentcy might be raised via a per unit payout system, and if that is the system you wish to utilize, then we will oblige. However, there is one thing that we would like to discuss. That would be the aforementioned technology exchange?
OSI has great interest in the research of some aspects of your technology, and as such has prepared a counter offer for your perusal:
In exchange for the aforementioned 4 Drone craft, and 15 Shields, OSI would be willing to complete deliveries of the required goods at discounted prices. These figures follow for your own processing abilities to examine.
Ship Hull Panels: 2385 cr / Unit
Industrial Materials: 1255 cr / Unit
Robotics: 822 cr / Unit
Super Alloy: 1391 cr / Unit
Optronics: 1093 cr / Unit
Polymers: 888 cr / Unit
Xenobiotic Filters: 1748 cr / Unit
*Please note that these prices would only be in effect for the first module upgrade. Prices would then need to be renegotiated for further upgrades.
I can assure you that in no way would this research entail military applications. We are interested in the advanced circuitry and interconnectedness of your designs. Surely if they can house a construct as impressive as one of your Autonomous Identity's, then such systems must contain much we can learn from to make our own electronics more efficient.
As a measure of openness between us, I will be candid with you. Should you decline the technology exchange, then the discounted prices would be null and void, and the following prices would fall into effect as our counter offer.
Ship Hull Panels: 6771 cr / Unit
Industrial Materials: 3708 cr / Unit
Robotics: 2354 cr / Unit
Super Alloy: 3930 cr / Unit
Optronics: 2709 cr / Unit
Polymers: 2446 cr / Unit
Xenobiotic Filters: 5211 cr / Unit
OSI hopes you will consider our counter offer carefully.
