Government of the Colonial Republic,
I am Colonel Joseph Garcia of the SCRA. It has come to my attention that the Colonial Republic has granted the previous administration the use of several of its vessels. In recent times, the use of Colonial technology has fallen out of favor due to the increasing sentiment of patriotism within the ranks of the SCRA.
However, a grave problem has reared its head in recent times. It would appear that almost 99% of our current "Insurgent" Space Superiority Fighters have been built with a fatal flaw which we believe to be the result of sabotage. This flaw has effectively lowered the maneuverability of the Insurgent to unacceptable levels resulting in extremely high casualties.
I cannot, in good faith, allow pilots under my command to fly such death traps into combat. I am therefore proposing the following solution:
We return to you the Thanatos and Hydras that have been granted to us in exchange for enough Nyx's to maintain our operational capabilities while we refit the entirety of our Insurgent fleet. No small matter given just how many we have produced.
I hope that we can reach a satisfactory resolution to this grave problem.
I am Liam Anders, Minister of Agriculture for the Republic and tend to run things concerning Yuma and occasionally Sabah.
A pleasure to hear from our acquaintances in the South again, and quite good timing. I had been meaning to check the status of Chairman Rykov's proposed flotilla. If you do have further news of this, I would be happy to deal with it in this channel.
It is not of any real surprise to me that the Army have lost interest in our ships given the return to Coronado of their main proponent, the Sevastopol Division. With the new hangar facility on the shipyard completed, we should be able to produce enough to bring at least a squadron of yours up to strength again; especially if we can simply touch up the returned vessels instead of having to fully repair damaged ones.
With the majority of your craft being Nyx fighters, I do have concerns for any repercussions that lead back to the Republic. As you should likely know, the current craft you operate are under the following condition:
Killian Seon Wrote:Due to our continuing diplomacy with both the Republic of Liberty, and the Kingdom of Bretonia, the use of our military craft against these nations would indeed negatively affect our relations. I have been asked to relay to you the terms of this order, that said vessels are not to be used within or against the forces of the Republic of Liberty. We are aware of the cease fire with Bretonia, so as to aid against the Gallic invasion - we anticipate no issue with our vessels within Bretonia space, so long as those vessels are not used against Bretonia.
With a change, for whatever reason, in your thoughts on Bretonia, diplomatic trouble is our main concern. Combined with this piece of information I have been made privy to:

it would be most preferable for you to keep your operations against either the closer or larger foes of the Corsairs and Gallic Royalists. Let us know what you make of all this.

Mr. Anders,
I am pleased to receive a reply in his urgent matter. I will look into the matter of Chairman Rykov's proposal and get back to you as soon as I learn anything substantial.
As for your terms, I find them entirely acceptable though I will add that we cannot guarantee that there won't be any engagements between ourselves and the house governments. We will certainly do our part in avoiding such conflicts of course.
In the unlikely event that the Republic suffers any political fallout, you may simply claim that the SCRA got their hands on Colonial technology because of a defector group, which wouldn't be too far from the truth. We would be fine in you rejecting ties to us in the event of political fallout.
As for the Kronos in Bretonia, it should not have been deployed so carelessly and we will take measures to ensure that such an obvious Republic ship is not sighted in house space, or at the very least is used to fight the Corsairs and the Gallic Royalists.
I look forward to receiving the first batch of Nyx Space Superiority Fighters and I thank you for your assistance in resolving this matter. It is my hope that the SCRA and the Colonial Republic may continue relations and further cooperate in the future.
I doubt that the Coalition would field (in one operation) a Nyx squadron of numbers that would suggest more than could feasibly be from the Sevastopol Division. My brother usually mentions that smaller groups can operate very effectively, not quite the same with transport convoys which is more my domain.
We appreciate the assurance regarding the Hammer, or XiaoBei as I believe it has been re-christened, will be kept out of the houses.
Some reserve Nyx fighters shall be made available now, and production of some without weapons mounted will also begin. Your pilots may travel up here to pick them up, or perhaps come along with the flotilla and/or with the Thanatos and Hydras.
