The main criminal and black market hub in Zurich and the first Sirian base in the system. The base was established almost immediately after the discovery of a stable wormhole between the Cologne and Zurich systems and was initially built as quickly as possible using prefabricated parts manufactured in Rheinland and assembled on site in the Valais Cloud.

The original purpose of the base was to serve as a smuggling den and liaison with the Gallic criminal underworld, however in this regard the base did not fare well at all - Gallic criminals and smugglers showed little interest in the installation and so the base gradually became more of a launching pad for armed Unioner raids and operations in general.

In early 828 A.S. Davos faced its greatest challenge when the Valais Cloud proved to inflicting a long term corrosive effect on the station's exposed structures, especially when it reacted with the station's leaking fuel. The base's administrators considered abandoning it at first, but ultimately decided to excavate a new base in a large asteroid in the cloud to provide the necessary protection for all sensitive equipment due to its operational importance in the area.

Work on the new base began around mid-year, and for this purpose the Unioners flew to the site with two tugs to tow the existing station closer to the asteroid to make it easier and safer to work on the new base.By the beginning of 829 A.S., all work on the new base was completed and the old Davos base was dismantled and abandoned.

Although living conditions on Davos can still be considered less favorable than is customary on similar bases, the crew and equipment are now considerably less exposed to the corrosive effects of the Valais Cloud.

As the base gradually became more important to the Unione Corse and the Corsairs after the Red Hessian's defeat in Cologne System, the Unioners were forced to intensify the supply of distilled water and alkaline salts to the base to neutralize the corrosive effects on the docked ships and to decontaminate the smaller ships arriving at the station.

[831 AS] Jump Hole Upheaval Causes Chaos

HEISENBERG -- 831 AS -- Jump holes across Sirius have become increasingly volatile and chaotic over the last year, with Professor Sophia Nagel from the Heisenberg Research Station linking the unusual phenomena to the Pulse. The Pulse was an unprecedented blast of hyperspace energy that was detected immediately prior to last year's jump gate Blackout.

Professor Nagel and her team are certain the Pulse originated from outside Sirius, but are otherwise no closer to identifying its source or mitigating a future Blackout event. "Following the Blackout, we began to see immediate signs of jump hole destabilization in multiple different regions, with many ultimately falling out of phase alignment altogether", she commented. The dramatic upending of Sirius' jump hole network has already prompted many groups to abandon stations and withdraw from systems that appear to risk being cut off.

While months-long trips between the stars are possible thanks to the Liberty Engine and many centuries of innovation, few ships are designed or provisioned to make such arduous journeys. Those who were displaced by Sirius' redrawn map hope that system connections will return, while adventurers and explorers rush to discover new routes.

[829 AS] Take What You Can, When You Can

PACIFICA -- 829 -- It was inevitable, but Rheinland has outlawed the movement once more. This comes as no real surprise -- while they initially paid us off to keep Bering and Hudson under control, Imperial bribes alone don't cover the bills. There's simply more money on the other side of the law. Now we've no reason to play nice and Imperial Shipping is back on the target list. Despite grand promises to the unions during the war, they failed to follow through on any of those commitments. Conditions on Alster are as bad as they've ever been. It seems our support during the war wasn't worth much respect in the Reichstag when corporate bribes are involved.

[733 AGS] The Way into Gallia is Open!

REUNION -- 733 AGS, 817 AS -- The Council is proud to announce that the mine fields that have concealed the existence of Gallia from the rest of the Sirius population have been breached in Orkney and Omicron Tau. This achievement has cost us decades of bloody war with Gallic government forces who rejected the rights of the Gallic nation to re-unite with the rest of humanity that escaped Sol more than eight hundred years ago.

We will welcome any ships willing to explore Gallic space and establish relations with local factions. In exchange for the passage, we ask for guarantees of neutrality towards the Council, its military and civilian personnel. We also warn that any capital ship fleets or other large military detachments will be denied passage, by force if necessary. Our goal is to prevent the war, not to encourage attacks of other Houses who might consider Gallia its enemy. Gallia is no one's enemy, and our task is to prove it. We hope that after our actions in the Gallic Border Worlds the King of Gallia will demonstrate responsibility and discretion by establishing diplomatic relations with all four Houses and by canceling plans of Sirius-wide aggression.

However, even if the relations will be established, we, the Council, will still remain sworn enemies of the Crown, and the Second Gallic War will continue. Our current goal is to hold the passage in Languedoc open for everyone for as long as possible. However, the Royal Navy has assembled an overwhelming fleet in Languedoc that will soon head towards Languedoc. Our casualties has been very high during the recent years of fighting in this system, and odds to win the battles that will follow are very low. Languedoc detachments of the Council, and all civilians willing to escape the prosecution by Gallic government, will have to seek refuge in the Sirius Border Worlds. We are already looking for possible locations where we can build our bases and defensive installations.

We are also aware that Sirius space has its own unlawful factions, much like Gallic Brigands and Unione Corse in Gallia. Since our situation is complicated right now, we might seek help of those factions in order to survive and prevent unnecessary casualties. But we also realize that our equipment, ships and weaponry contain Gallic technologies that many Sirius parties are willing to appropriate. We are not trading or exchanging any of our military technologies. If any attempts to capture or attack Council personnel and ships occur, we reserve the right to retaliate with deadly force.

[826 AS] Victory turns to ash at Vierlande

PACIFICA -- 826 -- This should have been a day of momentous celebration, marking the occupation of the despised Vierlande Prison. Sadly, we were betrayed. Our supposed comrades in the Red Hessians and Coalition turned on us in the moment of victory. A full accounting of those lost is still being gathered, but initial reports confirm that Wedel Station has been destroyed, along with the Battleship Undine. Krefeld reports a massacre aboard, perpetrated by pre-positioned Hessian agents. The scale of this treachery is beyond belief, and a grievous wound that can never be forgiven.

[824 AS] Kielfeld Losses Continue

PACIFICA -- 824 -- Unioner smugglers are advised to steer clear of the Kielfeld - if you need to get to Barrow, route through Bering. Over the last six months, losses in the area have jumped over 300%, mainly hitting our Artifact and Diamond freighters. Crimson Squadron were sent in to investigate, with only Crimson leader Lea Nacht surviving. She says, “there’s a new breed of Bounty Hunter out there, likely ex-Unioners that know our routes.” Nacht successfully retreated deep into the field after her wing was ambushed, field repairing her Eagle’s engines and comms over the next 5 days before she could limp home. While we mourn the loss of the veteran Crimsons, Nacht’s tenacity allows their legacy to live on.
