Kaarst Drydock is an eldritch blend of human and Nomad technologies, and the heart of the Wild presence in Omega-58. Little is known about the facility for sure, however MND scouting reports indicate the drydock was constructed around 804 AS. Until the collapse of the system’s Jump Holes in 818 AS, Wild patrols roamed surrounding systems, hijacking ships and abducting pilots. Dark rumors whisper that these unfortunate captives were dragged back to Kaarst and subjected to horrific experiments on the hybridization of human and Nomad technologies. This resulted in the emergence of the deadly Scorpion drone, and many other abominations. When the system became accessible again in 834 AS, The Order were alarmed to discover that Kaarst had been entirely unaffected by the stellar cataclysm 16 years earlier.
The Drydock was excavated into an enormous asteroid as the Nomads reeled from the collapse of their Mindshare, and defeats in Thuringia at the hands of The Order and MND. Facing imminent starvation due to the depleted Daam-K’vosh power grid, Kaarst hosted the Wild’s desperate research into the surviving Alien Power Cell that had been retrieved from Omega-55. Upon unlocking the Cell’s secret of mass to energy conversion, they interfaced with Omega-58’s dormant Jump Gates to trickle enough power back into the grid to sustain themselves. The Wild were forced to repeatedly strip away the Cell’s safety controls and boost the rate of mass conversion to counteract other isolated Nomad Mindshare fragments siphoning the energy away.
The Wild later planned to use the Cell to reactivate an Alien Jump Gate, creating a bridge to the Nomad home systems. This ended in disaster when the fatally overstressed cell triggered a run-away conversion effect in 818 AS. A singularity began tearing the system apart, while the star collapsed into the P58 Pulsar. The surviving Wild were forced into hibernation on Kaarst until solar conditions settled, at which point they cannibalized surviving ships and stations to create the pulsar harvesting arrays that powered the facility through the long isolation. With this isolation now lifted, slumbering Infiltrators have awoken and Kaarst’s foul machinery has ground back to life. A dark tide of Wild ships now pour into the unsuspecting Omegas and Rheinland.

Karl Ettinger, Foreign Minister of Rheinland, was reportedly killed in a bomb blast earlier today. Ettinger was en route to inspect the remains of the Hamburg Station when a fusion bomb, apparently hidden in one of his attending ships, detonated, killing everyone. Rheinland authorities say they are investigating the site of the incident, but since the destruction was so utterly complete, they have little to go on at this time. |

"Though we have been tolerant thus far," the Queen said, "this hostile act casts a dark shadow on our relationship and will be met with equal force if need be." |

Royal analysts have reported this information to the Queen and have advised her that Rheinland may be preparing for war. |

Requesting asylum and political protection, these people, whose names have been withheld, claim to have barely escaped a Rheinland death squad. They are currently being held in a secure location and have been granted an audience with the Home Secretary. |

In their analysis they discovered that a device, based on a fusion-bomb design, had been cleverly modified using Kusari components to be even more thorough in its destructive power. Meanwhile, Kusari officials demanded to inspect this so-called evidence, denouncing it as a feeble attempt by Rheinland to justify its war-like actions. |
