I can't be the only one that keeps getting stuck inside this thing! With the smaller ships it can be leathal and very expencive, larger ships just a big hassel to have to F1 5-10 times to get out. :(
Thank U for your time.

Yeah happens to me to. Detroit is a real PITA, especially in starflyer where you can die horribly from simply bashing into the walls. I find it takes multiple cycles of quit/F3/whatever to get out (and then of course the Xenos are waiting for you). I avoid Detroit like the plague.
i dont remimber the last time i even saw detroit, i never travil out that way in NY, its just not on my paths, so i have no clue what you guys are talking about but it isnt hard to avoid
When I first started here on DGC I had to help a new player get out of detroit, literally by parking my ship and having him f1 out muliple times and try to fly towards my ship. He was that extremely stuck.
The game undocks you heading into the 'processing plant' thing (I just called it that way, whatever it is, it isn't important). What is important is to STOP imediately when you get control of the ship.
VERY IMPORTANT: Don't change direction, actually don't touch anything except throttle down.
OK, now you're stopped, hopefullt you didn't hit the opposite wall and spun around/in circles and so on to get you disoriented.
Make a 180 degree turn (still not moving, just turn). Now you're facing the 'tube' that brought you here. Go forward slowly until you're in. You can go faster now since you're in until the distance shows '0'. Hit 'Dock'. Hit undock.
You should be undocking through another dock/mooring point. If you undock again inside -- repeat. Usually works at first but errors happen, so you may try a few times but you will eventually get out. It's easy once you get a hang of it.
On a side note -- get stuck inside Kyoto Base with a Huegenot! Took me two hrs to get outta there.
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor

Avoiding is not the answer since the newbie's have to start there in NY, It really needs to be fixed. Ok since we now start every one out with a million credits (whitch I my self feel takes alot of fun out of the game) not such a big deal to avoid Detroit but still not ever one is going to know that.
IMHO
