Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: Lane Hackers Subject: Corrupted Server
Hello, my name is Albert McKenzie of the Starfliers.
I am reaching out to ask for assistance regarding the restoration of corrupted information on our data servers. Would this be something the Hackers have an affinity for?

Hey hey, fellow nerd-man! Heard about y'all but ain't yet had the pleasure to make the mutual acquaintance.
Name's Riley, reppin' a group of gals, gal-pals, and just-pals in Ontario and elsewhere. Yeah, we can fix your data no probsies. I actually specialize in algorithms and data structures -- yanno, in addition to pumping iron, making corpos cry, breakcore mixing, FLAC advocacy, and flak advocacy. I got some pretty neat algos for predictive rebuilds that I whipped up in response to an attempted counter-hack and refined when someone took a magnet to my favorite box as a "prank".
Anyway, shoot the deets. Leave it up to you if you wanna discuss payment now or once I've got my grubby li'l fingers on your data, but if'n I were you, I'd prolly go for the first option. Sooner you gimme a ring, sooner I can get to work. Ciaaaao~!

Hello, Riley.
This information is important to me, I am willing to forgo any feelings I have about you making other corporations cry if it means our database gets rebuilt. Our information is painstakingly gathered and I would rather it not be lost. Having a predictive rebuild algorithm of our own would indeed be very useful. A project for another time.
The server in question is a dated HX-17 rack-mounted unit. The contents of this particular unit includes visual snapshots of locations we have visited. These images have been corrupted due to several unexpected power outages. The source of the power outages has been rectified, though this has left us with the corrupted server.
I am happy to have the server loaded into a transport container, ready to be picked up from our station in Inverness. If you are able to restore the images to an adequate quality, you will be fairly compensated.

What's boppin', McKenzie?
No worries about any potential hard feelings. Can't speak for all the gals but I actually think your mission or whatever's pretty cool, and frankly, if groups like Ageira actually did anything resembling a public service like your stellar cartography stuff, I doubt we'd have as many bones to pick with 'em. Anyway, business!
I've already picked up your box from that big modular you've got going, and I'm on my way to the nearby Freeport with it. Don't get to get out here much, it's kind of a nice vacation as far as business trips go. Five mil sounds about right to me for this kinda job, given just how much data you've got in here. Just wire the creds to the burner account I left with your man, and when I get back with your box, you're gonna connect it to whatever mainframe got fragged, go to the root dir, run the "rawrrepair.sh" file in there, and give it about six hours. For additional mainframes, repeat the procedure each time. Once you're done, you're gonna wanna run "postrep.sh" and give it a coupl'a seconds. After that, your data should be good as new.
Trust me about running the postrep shell script. Your box might have a bad time if you don't, call it a li'l bit of operational security.
I'll be doing a little bit of predictive fine-tuning, but you should be able to pick up the server from Room B6 on Fourteen in a few hours. Don't try running either of the scripts if you haven't sent the money. Nice and simple, right, choom?
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: ERR307:INVALIDID, Lane Hackers Subject: Will collect soon
Hello, Riley.
One script, then the other. Only after payment. Easy instructions to follow.
The problem is that we are spread thin on a certain project right now and we need all hands on deck. Once a pilot is free to collect the server we'll send them over the Freeport 14 to collect it during a supply run.
Payment of five-million will be wired to your selected "burner account" within the next two weeks. You may leave the server locked in Room B6 and continue to do your usual tasks. Just make sure to notify someone there that a pilot of Starflier identification will be arriving to collect it soon.
Albert McKenzie, Starfliers To: ERR307:INVALIDID, Lane Hackers Subject: Success
Hello, Riley.
Instructions were clear and I can confirm s 96.3% success rate on the restoration. This result came after the payment was wired, which I have left a record of below for your own validation. The visual records that could not be restored have been recoded to show a flavourful message. This is something I was not expecting, my guess is this cannot be removed?
Chatter around Sirius paints the Hackers in a negative light, however your group has completed the task I had requested, despite the loss of 3.7% of the data. If I hear anyone else having similar issues with their data servers, I may point them towards you.
Code:
[14.04.2024 08:52:00] /givecash pet-bank-one 5000000
[14.04.2024 08:52:00] [2024-04-14] 08:51:59 You have sent 5.000.000 credits to PET-BANK-ONE.

Like I said, chief, me and the girlies got nothin' against your boys. It's sick to get to do biz with a group that isn't actively making the world worse, nomesay'n? Anyway, if you or any non-governmental friends of yours need help settin' up triple-redundant systems so this doesn't happen again, you know who to call. Take care now!
