How do we represent ourselves in space?
. . ID Lines: .
The Starfliers are an independent research and exploratory organization specializing in system cartography, studying points of interest and researching interstellar anomalies within Sirius and Gallia. Originally hailing from the Kepler System in 828 AS, they have rebuilt a home for themselves within the Inverness System. Their largely miniscule footprint within space has allowed them to stay neutral with most parties. The information they gather is sold to any organization wanting to work with the Starfliers.
This Independent official faction ID is used by Starfliers, who:
Cannot mount weapons.
Cannot fulfill bounty contracts.
Cannot use Liners other than '\S/'Velorum and '\S/'Sol.
Can only fly Civilian, Border Worlds and Edge Worlds ships.
Can only fly Light Fighters, Freighters, Corvo, Retrofit Transport, Liners.
Company Origins Where did the Starfliers come from?
How did they get to where they are now?
. . Leon, a freelance pilot hailing from Omicron Theta found a really good deal on a Bustard equipped with hyperspace technology. Catch was, the Bustard had a defect and the price was too good to be true. Once the purchase was completed and Leon obtained the Bustard known as the Velorum, he spent a bit of time exploring the Sirius Sector.
One time, the Velorum's defect caused a Jump Drive malfunction, bringing the vessel right into the Hammen Hole in Omega-5. It didn't take long for Leon to see the state of the system. Many disabled ships, dead pilots and a handful of Corsairs and Hessians fighting each other. The Hammen Hole struck a chord with him, convincing him that weapons are not the way to deal with any issues. From that moment forward, Leon promised himself that he would never mount a single arm on his ship, to prevent any unnecessary bloodshed and loss of life. This would later be applied to every other Starfliers vessel, effectively handicapping their ability to fight back any undesirables.
Flying around Sirius in his Bustard, Leon gained some credits a bit of reputation through his contract work as a Hyperspace Surveyor. With the data servers on board his ship reaching capacity, Leon decided it was time to setup a home somewhere in the Independent Worlds. This is when the Starfliers were officially introduced. Information started circling around the Neural Net around 828 AS, recruiting other researchers, scientists and crew that primarily specialize in exploration, cartography and hyperspace related scientific fields. Shortly after, Leon encountered the Technocracy of Auxo within the Taus. They had questioned Leon about his job, purpose and origins. Their conversation was quite fruitful, as this sparked a secret partnership between the Starfliers and the Technocracy, to a degree where they had funded the Starfliers growth into what they are known as now.
Not only did they receive a huge influx of credits, but their clientele grew quite large too. Servicing the most developed organizations within Sirius, the Starfliers profits from their services were redirected internally to grow. This cycle of reinvestment allowed the company to purchase new ships and craft, dedicated to certain roles and processes. Over the few years they have been operational, the Starfliers have accumulated a handful of transports, civilian explorers and some freighters, all with their own roles and tasks to perform to continue on their main goals of exploration and research.
Presently, the Starfliers are the first choice for many who would contract their services in system cartography, hyperspace travel and research reports. . .
Company Goals What are our organization's goals?
What are we doing to achieve these goals?
. .
Primary
We're looking to record and discover as much as we can utilizing our small-scale fleet. Our teams are asked with researching specific objects and anomalies we find to learn more about them. Performing these tasks is what drives us to become the top exploratory and research organisation in Sirius and Gallia.
Personal research ventures are encouraged, as each scientist and researcher has their own interests and projects they wish to pursue. Through our exploratory and research methods, we celebrate any developments made within any individual projects.
Secondary
Having a large background in hyperspace surveying before The Pulse, our ships have been equipped with Hyperspace Matrixes in order to build a hyperspace network across space. This enables us to continue learning about Hyperspace travel while performing our own daily duties.
Utilizing some of the best hardware in Sirius, we are striving to improve upon them. To create not only the best research equipment, but secure ourselves in a strong position for other exploratory and scientifically-inclined individuals to join and continue the journey of learning and discovery.
While the Starfliers have been running their operations within the Inverness System, they had expanded their operations to include "Draugr"-Class freighters, as they had previously utilized Light Fighters for this role. These ships are equipped with enhanced long-range sensors, ready to detect entities from far distances, these vessels can map out systems near-instantly. They are tasked with exploring space and finding any points of interests for further study and research. Our pilots get to obtain one for themselves when they reach the Starflier rank, after which they can freely swap to any Light Fighter or Freighter that we're trained to fly.

D.C.V. Deep-Space Cargo Vessel
"Retrofit"-Class
'\S/'Quasar
.
. .
Previously serviced by the trustworthy "Albatross"-Class, the Starfliers found it inadequate to stay financially afloat. An old wreck was discovered in the outskirts of the Ontario system, one resembling a transport worthy of flying today. A blueprint was drawn up by the Junkers and at the request of the Starfliers, a couple of these ships were constructed to supersede the old "Albatross"-Class. With the change of ship, the new "Retrofit"-Class vessels have got their callsign changed to Quasar.
.
. .
M.R.V. Multi-Purpose Research Vessel
"Corvo"-Class
'\S/'Arcturus
.
. .
Purchased later down the line in the Starfliers time in Sirius, this "Corvo"-Class research vessel is built to research "Baxter"-Class Anomalies. After some were found around Sirius, getting a handful of these vessels into the Starfliers hands was expedited. Recently, Kishiro had pushed a software update to both Survey Modules, bricking their usage and removing all ability to collect vector information for the Jump Drives. This change forced the Starfliers to consider other options and instead swapped the equipment with Starflier Network Beacons, giving them even more hyperspace coverage across Sirius.
.
. .
R.C.V. Representative Capital Vessel
"Bustard"-Class
'\S/'Velorum
.
. .
The first Starflier vessel, and the company's previous flagship. The Velorum is capable of generating artificial rifts for others to utilize. Over the last few months, it has seen more use as Kishiro's software update on Jumping technology has enabled the Starfliers greater degree of exploratory expeditions. With enough Docking Bays to house a small squadron, these are used to transport a handful of C.E.V.s for exploratory excursions.
.
. .
S.R.V. Specialized Research Vessel
"Enterprise"-Class
'\S/'Sol
.
. .
This retrofitted "Enterprise"-Class liner was purchased from Spa & Cruise for one purpose, to become the best research vessel in Sirius. With hyper-focused research wings run by dedicated teams, the Liner has been fitted with an experimental Jump Drive, capable of jumping only itself into the Unknown Sectors, or to any other position within the Starflier Network. Whilst the Jump Drive can only generate a wormhole big enough for one ship, the "Enterprise"-Class has enough internal space to carry two Freighters, enabling a single vessel to bring three ships to a desired point for research expeditions. The "Bustard"-Class that has served the Starfliers for many years would be reassigned to more of a representative ship, as the '\S/'Sol would take on the role as the flagship of the Starfliers.

Brief Bio: I was born and raised in Greenwich on Planet Manhattan. I graduated from Greenwich High. Since my early youth I was fascinated by our solar system. It was never comprehensible to me how common it was for our species to have colonized the vast universe. After graduation, I worked as a commodity deliverer in my town to pass the time while I considered what I wanted to do with my life. I applied to Manhattan University of Stellar Studies, but unfortunately was not accepted. I saved up enough credits to get my pilot's license, which I received six months ago. Since then, I basically did the same thing I did on Manhattan. I am an independent small-time supplier of all kinds of goods. My flying skills are decent enough. I can navigate space rather easily, but haven't gained much experience in space combat. I have completed basic training in simulations and would not consider myself a very poor marksman, but the real-world circumstances of combat in space are largely unknown to me. As I have already told Mr. Vicci in a private transmission, I am a very unbiased and open person. My interest in people, groupings, and others trumps the prejudices I know about the aforementioned.
Reason to Join: The reason I want to join your organization is that it fits my interest profile the best. I decided to become spaceborne to learn about the different systems, cultures, people and factions. There are beautiful but also dangerous systems in Sirius with factions that have adapted to these conditions. The various political, economic and natural events have brought a plethora of personalities into the world that I am eager to see. Accordingly, I imagine it fitting to explore the depths of space with like-minded people and face the dangers. I know this is not a combat-oriented group, yet I believe that is also an inevitable part of this world. Perhaps I will find something along the way that will give me even more purpose. However, I have to get to that point first. Another good thing is that the Starfliers offer a business incentive. Earning a living while exploring the depths of space seem like a good deal to me.

Our conversation beforehand has given me a lot of promise to bring in new pilots, Ian Keldian. After reviewing your application and re-reading the transcript of our previous transmission, your application to join has been [Granted]. A handful of ships have been prepared in the docking bays of Starflier Base. Feel free to use these vessels when you feel the itch to explore Sirius. Welcome to the Starfliers. Godspeed.
Where I come from is not important. To this day i worked at Heisenberg Research, doing deepspace Exploring whilst sitting comfortably in an office chair. My biggest concern was the type of lunch I'd get. I would go into details what it was I saw.....but my head is right where it should be and I like it to keep it that way. There isnt much to say otherwise.
Reason to Join
For a few months now I searched for a reason to leave Heisenberg Research Station, starting a new chapter in my book. I truly think this can be glorious start in active exploring. Sitting behind a monitor all day watching the deepspace transmitter is, for the most part, boring. The few times you dectect something cant hold up with that.Actively exploring though, what a RUSH! So, in conclusion, I'd be the perfect man for this.

Your submission fits the profile of a Starflier in a handful of ways, Dr. Tauber. You may be able to assist Albert in researching newly found anomalies found within Sirius. Your application has been [Granted]. Fly on over to Kepler to grt acquainted with our base and welcome to the Starfliers. Godspeed.
Trained at Freeport 6 by Jiro Satou Flight School.
I used to be a Freelance pilot on short-term contracts to a variety of smaller companies. I mostly flew freighters and the occasional small transport. I am technically capable of flying a fighter, but am not combat trained.
Currently not in any other employment.
Reason to Join
I am only a civilian pilot. I recently got into trouble when the ship I was flying was shot down by a pirate in Kusari. The cargo was lost and I was blamed for not being skilled at fighting. The contractual fines bankrupted me. After that, no-one would hire me. I heard the Starfliers have food, provide a place to live and even supply the ships we fly. This seemed like a place I might be able to pick myself up again.

A freelancer looking for work? Muliah Taana, this company may be a good place for you to get reacquainted with the cosmos. Sorry to hear about your ship, we have a handful prepared that range from ferrying goods all the way to researching anomalies. Your application is [Granted], make your way to the Kepler System and land on Starflier Base. We'll give you the tour. Godspeed.
I was trained to fly fighters on Planet Houston but was never very good at combat oreintation. I can find my way through space easy enough but my classmate laughed at my lacking combat skills.

I started my studies about space exploration some 10 years ago in Cambridge University. I was fascinated by the vastness of unexplored space there is to discover, so I and some other likeminded people from the University banded together and acquired a Corvo Deep Space Explorer, which I have been captaining for the last 2 years. Things have been going well, however some of our more ambitious projects have not been achievable due to a lack of funding.
Reason to Join
To be able to further our research into the unexplored corners of space and more thoroughly explore what we already know.

. . Lucas Miller, as much as we do not equip ourselves with offensive arms and participate in harming others, we are looking for pilots that are willing to further our goals of exploration and research of Sirius as a whole. Reading your application suggests we are after only pilots with below average combat experience, this is far from the case. At this time, your application to join is [Denied]. If your motivation to join changes in the next two months, you may reapply then.
Caitlyn Woods, why does your name sound familiar? In any case, you seem to know your way around a Corvo-Class explorer, which is beneficial since we have a handful of them located around the Omegas. The Starfliers are able to grant minute funding to your projects, no strings attached. Also, a link to the university in Cambridge would do us well. Your application has been [Granted]. Fly on over to Starflier Base in Kepler and we'll get your orientation underway.
