Would the Libertines be the same if they had Kusari engine trails?
as long as the Kusari didn't have the same engine trails as Liberty then. If a faction's RP is so weak as to be defined by the color of it's engines, then there are more serious problems at stake.
The whole point is to make each faction a little more distinct.
Molly/pirate/bounty hunter ships are all known for the red glow. Each house police/military shipline has it's own engine effects as well. Even gallia has numerous engine effects that are different for it's civilian, lawful, and unlawful craft.
Junkers have more bases in game than most other factions, they span almost all of sirius - only being outside of one house (kusari) - I think they've advanced to the point of being able to get their own engine effects.
' Wrote:And that's where you're going beyond junker RP. Yes, junker players often smuggle cardi right down from malta, but as far as our canon RP goes, the only part junkers have in the cardamine trade is taking it from rochester to manhattan, as junker ships can get by the authorities with small loads of contraband. It doesnt make as much money as running a full adv train load of cardi from the source.
Did you ever get a CSV, fill it with 799999 units of cardamine on Rochester and then sell it on Manhattan? No? I rest my case.

They pretty much do, they use the Vanilla Transport engine trails. Certain ships like the Salvager (Liberty Engines), Bull Dog (Bretonia Engines), and Gitano (Rogue/Hunter Engines) don't use these, but they either will in time or their descendants will.
' Wrote:Really? Last time I checked canon RP mentioned that the Junkers were at the bottom of the pyramid. Used by all and respected by no one, yet indispensable. They'd sit around on Buffalo whining about being kicked around and doing the hardest work for the least kickback, working the middleman job between cardi stockpiles and planetside consumers etc etc.
They didn't move beyond house borders.
They certainly weren't fabulously wealthy.
And they weren't in bed with Gallia.
All in all? Boring. Let's move on!
That being said, some Junker ships are hand built by loving gear heads. Some are spiffy jobs that folks who aint got the time nor inclination for patching things together, and all of the shades of grey come together to form a rich tapestry of story and art.
Keep yer fingers out of other people's canons. They're prone to go off.
They're at the end of the distribution chain for smuggling, yeah. Bottom of the unlawfuls in terms of power, yeah. They don't do cross-border smuggling in canon, yeah. They weren't in bed with Gallia, yeah. But they were rich. If you check the base rumours, they're always talking about all the money they have. End-sale of goods always has the highest profit margins compared to production or wholesale. They're not the middlemen. Rogues and unioners and so on are the middle men. Junkers are the ones at the end.
