Hello, I've noticed something new since the upgrade that is quite annoying. When I fire a CD at someone near a station or base, the station goes crazy and starts firing at me.
All this for a CD? I can launch mines, and fire missles at craft near a station and it doesn't fire at me.
Also every now and then, a station gets mad at me for no reason whatsoever. No shots are fired nothing, it just turns red and goes crazy and I have to fly to another location and dock before it resets.

Any help on this?

Is is just stations of a single faction or random stations? If it is only a faction the way I can explain this is your rep, which is very close to hostile but appear neutral on your sheet. This makes the faction hostile to you. Other than that I have no clue as it never happened to me before, but then I don't use CDs.
Also a CD is recognised as an attack by NPCs, try firing a CD at a patrol:)

Hi, thanks for the quick reply!
The stations I do this near are way above neutral, almost affiliated. It doesn't seem to matter where this occurs and which station, they all do it.
I never fire on npc's as I know they turn hostile fast but I'm just casually cd'ing a friend.
I can reproduce the error easily and it happens on more than one character.
I might be wrong and I am sure someone can correct me but on numerous occasions I can fly to a station or planet I am neutral with but if a hostile NPC transport turns up for example the station goes red and starts shooting me!
Doesnt happen with stations I am friendly with just neutral or below.
Its a right pain in my Junker when I am in Pennsylvania, have to dock damn quick before them NPC's turn up and make Planet Erie and every bugger else start shooting at me!

That might be why it happens to you
This case happens too if a hostile npc starts shooting at me the station will, no matter my standing, start firing at me too.
But I can get the stations mad at me without the npcs nearby:(
When a hostile NPC shoots at you near a station, if the faction which owns the station is an ally or police/corporation relationship with the NPC. It will usually start shooting you as well. Think of it as:
NPC: OMG red tag, DAI!!!!
station: Ohai ally NPC! Shooting at your enemy? Okai I'll help you and shoot because I'm your ally!
you: *ragequit*
okay maybe no ragequit but you have to fly away and escape.
Remember for some strange reason all NPCs (stations too according to you) register a CD as an attack.
The rep system in Freelancer is very wierd, balanced on a shoe string.
Ive seen this happen to me before.
I have RM Guard rep flashing on my BS, and I was hostile to the junkers, so a Junker player passes by, Pirate Transport, full IFF and ID. Suddenly, All the stations and NPC's fired on him, engaged. I dont think that part of the rep system comes from vanilla freelancer, Where an NPC has empathy for a player, engaging factions they ussualy wouldnt just because that player is OMG DAI RED to them. Its sort of cool actually.
