To whomever this must concern,
The Independent Miners Guild formally requests the right to station one of our Argus class cruisers in the Hood proximity, to bolster it's perimiter defense. The Guild has a few reasons for this:
- Given the current tide of war, your own standing forces are needed elsewhere. With a powerful vessel in defense of Hood, we could become largely self-sufficient in terms of defense, giving your own craft room to focus elsewhere. Your forces have indicated many times that they aren't a private security force for any miner calling for help.
- With your recent policy on chasing away miners and trade vessels from Essex, we expect at least a portion of that trade to divert to Hood - which will increase traffic there, and also draw criminals wishing to prey on these there. The rekindling of the Mollies own mining efforts also tends to bring more traffic. We would like to be able to better ensure the safety of these vessels.
- The sighting of large, cruiser sized alien vessels in the Hood proximity has unsettled some of it's inhabitants. While they have so far chosen not to approach Hood there's no telling how long that will last.
- Last but not least, some of those AI cruiser-sized vessels floating around Dublin are becoming more agressive. We have recently received this threat (transcript) and would like to be able to respond effectively to it.
The vessel in question, the IMG|Savai'i, has seen action in the Tau region in times past, and is currently scheduled for a refit, after which it can be redeployed. It's mission statement would be fairly simple:
- Protect the Hood and it's immediate perimiter from capital-class threats
- Respond to capital-class threats within the Dublin proper (such as AI vessels, pardon the pun, blowing a fuse)
We realise this request is unusual, and may take some time to be considered. If you have any further questions in regards to this vessel, we will try to answer them as best as able. If this request is granted, we would also request a one-time travel permit for this vessel to travel to Hood. The intended route would be through the Tau 31, Edinburgh and finally Dublin system.
With kind regards, - Johnathan Sanders, on behalf of the Independent Miners Guild

Subject: Vessel Permission
Sir,
As you may know, Capital class vessels that are non-Bretonian are forbidden in Bretonian space unless prior permissions have been granted by several departments of the Government, and then are escorted by one of the Armed Forces.
To ask for a perminant permission will take some time to process.
Please bare with us till a decision has been made.
Yours aye
Cdre Jack Frost

// Ps, some relevant OORP info: The Savai'i is a shared vessel limited to the IMG guildmaster and four directors, it is not my own vessel.

Gentlemen,
It has come to my attention a Zephyr carrier has taken it upon itself to take on the task I had intended for the Savai'i. This vessel ("Natal" if our records are correct) is not under our direct control. We have requested it to get clearance through proper channels, but I suspect this vessel to be more concerned with Hood's safety then proper protocol, ever since the incident wherein two Corsair warships bore down on the practically immobile Hood. I must again stress that if the Armed Forces admiralty cannot ensure Hood's safety, then please, let us take care of our own - by any means neccesary. Hood is more then capable of driving off a few blackguard strikecraft, but fullblown warships with fighter escorts are simply too much - we will need something out there to counter such threats effectively. Were these other times I'd recommend stationing a Bretonian warship near Hood to oversee it's safety - but I suspect these vessels are all needed in the defense of Edinburgh, Dundee, Leeds and Newcastle.
I understand the Admiralty has given the order to destroy this carrier on sight. I would request of the Admiralty to at least consider rescinding this order. Seeing as the carrier's intent is to assist in the defense of Hood (and not operate outside of it's perimiter), it's presence is, as far as I can tell, an asset to the Armed Forces, instead of a threat. I understand this is not proper procedure, but we are in an unusual situation as is. I would move to make an official request for this carrier on it's behalf. Not all of the Guild's defense fleet are well versed in the ways of diplomacy, but all share a common goal: The safety of our guildsmen and women. We will not challenge the sovereignty of Bretonia.
Respectfully, - Johnathan Sanders, on behalf of the Independent Miners Guild

Subject: Vessel Permission
Sir,
As commanding officer aboard the Essex i would strongly advise that carrier captain to remove itself from Bretonian space.
As you know, or should, any capital class vessel must seek permission before it enters Bretonian space.
Not after and certainly not someone else seeking its permission rather than the captain of the vessel itself.
This move is, in itself, a challange to the sovereignty of Bretonia and the vessel, if found, will answer for it.
Unfortunately i am quite sure that this has set back the decision of the concerned Government departments on the initial request and the sooner this is brought back under control the better.
