' Wrote:Indeed. I think it's an elegant way to give the following idea: you can't know if one is friendly or hostile, until he shows his intentions. I have pirate id'd ships, who don't pirate. I think there've been discussions about this, wether a pirate id'd ship should be attacked by lawful forces just because of the id. In fact, unlike other id's, such as rog, hacker etc, the generic pirate can't be attacked, unless caught committing a crime.
Correct me if I'm wrong, tho <.<
If the above is true that a generic pirate cannot be attacked unless caught committing a crime then why does the IMG ID quote "Can hunt pirates and terrorists". This implies that one can attack a pirate whether or not he is up to no good. I do believe that ID information takes precidence over all else nowadays.
' Wrote:You see the problem is I can see logic in both sides of this argument. I can understand why a Pirate ID user would prefer a Freelancer IFF, but lets face it - you don't get it accidentally by doing missions. You go and buy it with bribes and pirates don't spend money for no reason.
With regard to the DSE ID - it's very different from law enforcement ones. It allows its' owner to 'Actively hunt independent Pirate ID's'. Not attack if attacked or attack if suspicious, but a straight old actively hunt. And it tells you you can hunt the ID itself, not the related activity or reputation. So I ask, is there a definitive mod answer to this or written rule as I want to play within the rules and the spirit of the game but I also quite like the idea of going and actively hunting pirate ID users with minimal RP before pew-pew in exactly the same way most of them do when I'm in my transport! :P
The Freelancer bribe thing <strike>should be</strike> is definitely OORP,so you cannot argue that. Why?Because Freelancers are not an organisation.Freelancers are...freelance individuals.Who ever heard of a person getting friendly with ALL Freelancers cuz he bribed A Freelancer?Because Freelancers are freelance individuals they can be enemies with anyone they like. You can bribe a Freelancer but you can't bribe ALL Freelancers by bribing a Freelancer.Geddit?
Damn,I think I'm contradicting myself somehow...
ID's exist out of role play environment. ID's are just to let the PLAYER know you are one of them. The actual character you are role playing, needs one of the three things I stated before.
About the hunting certain ID'ed players, just thought I would add that the ID's haven't been updated since 4.85 came.
