In recent months the Liberty Security Force launched a new gunboat, christened the LSF San Diego. Due to an oversight by the Liberty Naval Bureau, the Southern Alliance has christened one of its new gunboats the LNS San Diego. This notice is to inform pilots that the two ships are entirely distinct vessels, operated by different crews (by different organisations), and not the same ship operating under different callsigns at different times. Due to the superstition against renaming ships, dating back to surface mariners in ancient history, neither vessel will be rechristened. The Commanding Officers of both vessels believe that the clearly visible Southern Alliance and Liberty Security Force callsigns, together with this notice, are sufficient to enable pilots to distinguish betwen the two.

PLANET MANHATTAN (CNS) - Liberty has announced the renaming of a capital vessel
The ship, the LSF San Diego, had been the subject of confusion after the Liberty Navy launched its own ship reusing the name. Representatives from Ageira Technologies recently announced that a long-standing transponder issue had been fixed. The Liberty Ships Register confirmed that the vessel is now identified as the LSF Hooper Bay.
