Base only can produce some special valuable ship devices so far. Most time it just eat materials. There are posts talk about whether a base boost economy, and i saw bases called 'blabla Refinery' in game. So an idea come up in my mind. Why not let an ore refinery module available?

Put some raw materials(such as Alu ore, cobalt ore, Niobium ore mix with basic alloy, supper alloy etc) into a base with refinery module, then base could produce goods with higher value. It makes a base more like a refinery instead of a store. Base near ore trade route will create additional value to boost economy in game. And base owner can set different price for raw materials and products.:)

That would be fantastic for the most part. In ways it would be a bit of a blow to Player Bases that rely on ore if they don't change prices around. Right now Ore is really profitable to sell around Sirius, but refined products from the Ore are actually quite worthless in relation to the profit of the ore. Great idea if it can still be similarly lucrative compared to the ore. I personally would love to see a big drop in ore selling prices with a big price increase in refined products that come from the ore. We will see, I suppose.

Well I might recommend moving things in a different way. The Real gold getting harder and costlier and the present Ore getting pretty cheaper. Opens a new load of Opportunities.

I guess how the refinery module would work is:

Once built using many materials.
You drop/sell ore to the base.
It then processes each unit of ore into a unit of it's refined product.
Or possibly a ratio of 2 ore = 1 refined unit or vice versa.

For this to be "profitable" or worthwhile the price of refined ore's would have to be greater than the value of the unrefined Ore.

Gold would sell for 12,000 per unit or something, while Gold Ore would easily be sold for 3000 per unit at refineries closer to the Mining sites.

Yes we need more ways to make money without actually leaving the system. Un-fracking believable how lazy people are getting in Disco.

You do understand that building modules and supplying station requires more effort than making money?

Idea is fine. Where does all Ore go to? Why not make a smelting module to produce metals fom ore? so you can trade with Ore to pirate stations, because now I dont see how pirates on transports that demanding ore will sell it without metagaming with their ''lawful'' traders

They are supposed to sell to someone like a junker to promote RP/teamwork. But screw it. Lets all make bases of our own, so we can all play with ourselves. Thats where this thread is going.

@Neil Banes Mute me if you want. As i see you do not have the balls to say here what you PM'd me. Chicken shiit. PM then mute me. Truely ...what was word you used? "sad"

I already have working flhook craft plugin that operates on player level, but in fact it can be extended to player bases. Anyway Cannon has it's source code already, hope he can integrate it soon with his base plugin code:)
