We are putting the development of the Coalition shipline completely open. Some of the results weve gotten so far have been exceptional (thanks Jinx), but it appears that the ships are fine anyways lulz, I like shooting them crowd has a way of bringing excellent ideas crashing to the floor. Im tired of half-finished models, no progress being made, no attempt to fix deficiencies, and the constant bitching that the ships are fine, or you like the look even though you've never actually taken a look, or what the **** ever.
I expect that the ships with adapt to the likings and dislikes of the USERS. Im tired of some wanker whose never even seen the coalition before sticking his two bits in and complaining that they look too much like what the heck ever, or that they should be used for another faction, or that making the coalition fly crap ships really feels better to them.
So, here is the criteria: We need the following ships
-Light Fighter
-Heavy fighter (similar idea to the centurion or the paladin)
-Very Heavy Fighter
-Bomber
-Transport (Optional, but nice to have)
-Gunboat/Gunship (Option, current model is workable)
-Cruiser/Destroyer (Option, current model is workable)
As far as Im concerned, the gunboat and cruiser are fine, but if you want to put in a replace, go for it. Nothing saying well use it, but if all your ships look alike, theres a good chance.
Id also like for this ships to be hitboxed and hardpointed by the creator, or someone he/she asks to do it. The buggery thats gone on with that in the past is appalling as well.
For colour schemes, number of weapons, power supply, and the like: Use your imagination, but remember that these are vessels of the coalition, descended from the soviet block. Also remember that the coalition is low on pilots and trained crews. I am not asking for tanks, especially not in the LF/HF. However, think about it. Id like them to either all look like theyre descended from the same prototype, or at least in pairs with the HF/LF and the VHF/Bomber. Remember that the ships are meant to look intimidating.
Insignia: We would like them to mount the Cog and Hammer of the Coalition. The Red star has been a little trouble in the past, and the C&H will help separate FL from RL, in addition to looking cool.
For everyone who already has something started or in progress for the coalition, repost it here, and respond and adapt to comments. I'd like to emphasize that this is not to discourage anyone already working on the project, but to encourage diversity and competition.
The Reward for this project, you ask? Well, aside from the fact that you'll have designed the ships for the coalition, I'll send you an SCRA Tee shirt. Yes, I'm actually having them made, finally... Oh, and 500mil, provided they make it into the game.

They are but, we decided to put it out in the open and see if someone else will make something better. Ships that Ke Lin made are nice but they are too much cyclon looking. Like Izaak said this is only to get more options from which we can pick the best ship line. This is not supposed to discourage people who made something just opposite, its should encourage people to try harder and to collect the prize of 500 mil.

edit: Ke Lin, the ships you've produced, both current and new, are decent ships. But I guess consensus is that it's not exactly what we're looking for.

phunk that noise. It's time to get something that we want. It's also time that the opinions of the PEOPLE THAT WILL FLY THE SHIPS COUNT (second paragraph, should have kept reading Tenacity).
But, perhaps that's too much to ask of this community? too many nay-sayers that, instead of bringing things up, just try to tear down.
I, for one, can't WAIT to see what designs the community comes up with, and also if those designers are open to criticism and willing to change their view in light of what the PAYING CUSTOMER asks.

They do have opinions that matter. It is just inferior to the opinions of those who have used the old ships and who have to use the ships. But otherwise, I'm all ears.
Ke Lin, the first paragraph is not entirely for you. We've had other problems as well, believe me. It is a bit though, to be frank.
@MB52: As Cobra said, we value relevant opinions. We DO NOT value people saying they liked the old stuff, people bitching about how come we're getting so much stuff, and people saying they think stuff for the coalition would look much better in their faction.
