Firstly, Senor. Montoya, may I remind you that I did not raise this issue, Senor Sephardi did. The issue of the representativeness of the Council of Elders is an issue that has not been raised for many months simply because we are more or less comfortable with the current situation (thanks to the Omega Pirates Guild). If I where as power hungry as you suggest, I would be raising this issue daily rather than letting it drop from the agenda. Sephardi raised this issue from its grave, and so far I have made no addition to recounting the events from our perspective, other than to state that I stick by my decision.
May I also remind you that this situation began with my request for information regarding the destruction of an indipendant ship.
In my report I came to the same conclusion as Sephardi, yet have been the subject of death threats by one of your Soldati.
I have made no demands and yet you accuse me of being hungry for power, holding tantrums if I don't get it. A retraction or apology from the aformentioned Soldato would have been, and still would be sufficient, but instead you are attempting to beat us back into submissiveness.
Senor Zavier Benitez has the luxury of only having to present his own opinions. In contrast, I represent my clan and most statements and actions by THIS individual are representing the thoughts, feelings and concerns of the family, based on messages I receive from my members on our private channels. That Zavier would be easier to get along with if in my position is not the case. Often in such arguments, if my opinion was represented only, they would go very differently. The decision to leave Gamma during the incident that was so foolishly dragged up from it's resting place was made by the family, based on a vote done over private comms, as where all the decisions made during that campaign.
You have a problem with the decisions made by the family, not with me.
I have moderated myself and the comments that have been suggested need to be made on the family's behalf, but more personal insults have resulted.
A retraction would still be sufficient for this to be forgotten, in Carlos' opinion, but we all know how stubborn coalition officers are trained to be.
((One clan of equal size ruling over another is not just, and this was the situation in January. The whole "family" rule was never mentioned until after the Benitez attempted to get a fairer representation. It's a means for the Brotherhood to maintain control.
A challenge to you; restructure the Council of Elders into a Senate containing an equal number of equally powerful representatives from Benitez, OPG, TBH and Respected Indipendants, and I will resign my leadership of the Benitez family and all political power therein.
Now accuse me of being power-crazed)))
