ID:Colonel Aubert Giroux
Colonel Aubert Giroux submitting Priority 2 report. Few hours ago I encountered a Sirian while patrolling Luneville's perimeter. Finally, my suspicions were confirmed: I came across the same ship few weeks ago in Burgundy, near Nevers. This time we engaged in a long conversation, giving me enough time to scan the vessel.
Now I'll attach the voice recordings...
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Unexpected guest?
<CLASSIFIED>: Ain't it a little to far from new paris?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: New Paris is still far from our war against the Council.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, who's there? Any identification will be welcome.
<CLASSIFIED>:*smiles* You don't remember, do you?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I've got too many things to deal with everyday..
<CLASSIFIED>:It was... Burgundy I think.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oh, I remember. Valence was alongside me. You had a wingmen with you too
<CLASSIFIED>: I've asked you what lies behind the closed gate and why it was closed for so long.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And your ship's energy levels, oui, I recall.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And I ask you now, why is it that important for you?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Don't you have anything better to worry about? In Sirius?
<CLASSIFIED>:Sirius? Why should I worry what happens to it?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Well, you came from that minefield, that's for sure.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And I presume you already know our policy against foreigners..
<CLASSIFIED>:True enough. Minefield it would be.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Unless you actually have something REALLY useful for the Crown.
<CLASSIFIED>:I know of the policy and I know of exceptions too... otherwise I would not have returned from Burgundy, would I?
She was well informed about our behaviour, now I figure why she was acting so polite... Oui, I decided to make an exception last time.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, how may I enforce that exception again?
<CLASSIFIED>:Royals don't come often to this particular place.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: This cloud? Somebody has to check those terrorists don't threat that outpost near the minefield.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Terrorists, as the Maquis, that is.
<CLASSIFIED>:*laughs* And that someone just had to be you again. Coincidence?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Wouldn't be the first time I came across the same 'Outcast' warship in this place.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, I find it quite ordinary.
<CLASSIFIED>:I do not believe in coincedences. Everything falls into a plan. Question whether one knows it, or assumes to know.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Perhaps it was part of your 'plan'?
<CLASSIFIED>:Perhaps.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So ... What's the next step now I found you?
<CLASSIFIED>:You may try to follow that policy and attempt to kill me...
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Fortunately, a Colonel may ask first before shooting.
<CLASSIFIED>: Ah, so a rank of colonel. Is that a part of policy too for colonels to wander around all alone?
<CLASSIFIED>:No battleships. No cruisers. No banners high and crowd cheering. No?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Who's telling you I'm completely alone?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Maybe your ship's scanners are 'blind'.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Mines aren't, that's for sure.
A navy patrol stumbled upon the scene, as well as a Maquis rookie group
<CLASSIFIED>:Right now you are. Those two soldiers here buzzing around... well...
<CLASSIFIED>:Looks like they're quite occupied.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I bet they can do a good job.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oui, occupied, so I'll have to deal with you.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, again, what do you want?
<CLASSIFIED>:Brilliant. I was about to ask you the same!
<CLASSIFIED>:How good to know that we have a common language after all.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Well, you're the intruder here.
<CLASSIFIED>:Not quite.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: *Shrugs* Well, if you wish to keep playing this game about who's more intellectual ...
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I always can call the heavy artillery and remove you.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: But, I'm giving you a chance, you know.
<CLASSIFIED>:And then you wouldn't know the answer.
<CLASSIFIED>:Killing me would not do you any good.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Prove me wrong then.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I'm listening.
<CLASSIFIED>:You have already seen me before. You have scan logs. I do not think your superiors would want you to...
<CLASSIFIED>:Otherwise the policy would have worked back then. It did not.
<CLASSIFIED>:Ah yes... You want to. But you know you cannot.
<CLASSIFIED>:Delicious irony.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We could call it a 'Touche', maybe.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: But again, this is not what I'm looking for.
<CLASSIFIED>:Of course. Surely these maquis rabble here isn't what you came here for.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Maquis are our 'everyday meal'. Who cares. But an individual like you, in such ship ... that's not very common.
<CLASSIFIED>:And there are uncommon times, colonel.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We'll see once we reach Sirius
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: So, can I have my answer now?
<CLASSIFIED>:You will. In time you will. Others are growing aware.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: As I said, I've answered enough questions coming from you.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Now it's your time to tell me why you are so concerned about what's in our Core Worlds.
<CLASSIFIED>:History. You've been here for long enough in isolation, barely anyone outside knows much about who you are.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And why should we let outsiders know about us? About our History?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We were isolated for a reason.
<CLASSIFIED>:Only ignorant ones discard history. Yes, you've isolated for a reason. Last one to arrive...
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Last one to arrive...
<CLASSIFIED>:Giant sleeperships, carrying away from the war torn home. The last hope.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Well, looks like 'war' is part of our genetics. Thousands of years later, here we are.
<CLASSIFIED>:Have you been outside?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Non, but I've been told about wars in Sirius.
<CLASSIFIED>:What do you think of them?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Why should I have an opinion about the problems of the others?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We've got our own problems here. I don't care about Sirian's
She offered herself to help me to destroy the Maquis rookies ... Definitely this Sirian knows about diplomacy...
<CLASSIFIED>:Looks like these maquis are pesky types... let me give you a hand here.
<CLASSIFIED>:Rabble indeed.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: They tend to ram our Valors. Fools.
<CLASSIFIED>:Also, you aren't quite right when saying you don't care about sirians.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I don't care about the problems of Sirians.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: That's different.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Wars, etc.
<CLASSIFIED>:But you are interested in their technology.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We would need to know about our future enemies.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Actually, current enemies.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: But we haven't met in the battlefront yet.
<CLASSIFIED>:Enemies... Many outside think you are a threat.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: We think the same about them.
<CLASSIFIED>:Not everyone thinks the same, colonel.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Like the first time, you just came here to teach me morale lessons, right?
<CLASSIFIED>:Morale? You've opened a wrong translation book, colonel.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Then tell me what book to open.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And perhaps I could end my shift soon, and you'd be back at home alive too.
<CLASSIFIED>:There are some who might help you actually.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I'm listening.
<CLASSIFIED>:They sent me to see how approachable would you be.
<CLASSIFIED>:I told you back then... to evaluate.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: And what's the evaluation mark?
<CLASSIFIED>:Many words and definitions... In short: doable.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: I see. And when would you end this evaluation?
<CLASSIFIED>:In due time, colonel. Perhaps... If we would speak at more comfortable situation.
<CLASSIFIED>:Rather than being shot by this petty rabble.
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oui, I think that giving you a chance will be worthy for us.
<CLASSIFIED>:Other sirians think you are monsters... it seems they are wrong, aren't they, colonel?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Why would we be monsters?
<CLASSIFIED>:Beliefs. Prejudice. Fear...
<CLASSIFIED>:Like you said the war is in genes and follows wherever you go... fear also follows as well.
<CLASSIFIED>:With your permission I'll stay here. We'll speak later, oui?
GRN|Aubert,Giroux: Oui
She docked with Lixheim base, the Junker outpost orbitting planet Nancy. There will be two Navy scout wings monitoring the space traffic coming from Lixheim until we decide what to do with the Sirian. I'll be awaiting for orders, Marechal. Giroux out.
