Use Dulzian transport turrets on other slots for increased defense capabilities. Go to turret view, disable "Cockpit" in options, push reverse and shoot around. Your transport will move in reverse circles, pretty much staying at same spot and you'l have most "rocks" on the screen as you'l move with increased speed trough the field.
I do not quiet undestand, why disabling "Cockpit" will help, if you are using turret mode. How can you even align the mining arrays in turret mode? Maybe you meant "normal" (default 3rd person) mode?
Sorry, typo. I meant cockpit view, and disabling "Cockpit" so you dont see the ship interior or whatever that is. The cockpit view makes your guns aim forward all the time. So you will hit them with all of your guns 100%! This is especially important on ships with 2+ mining turrets, as using 3rd person view or turret view makes you hit with one turret sooner than second turret because of their slow turning speed, or even limited arcs, so you get lower yield.
And I definitely suggest you to dust off your Salvager. It's a great ship to earn credits in! Also, your point in Rock Badger being distracting look-wise. Use it in cockpit view.
As for the Hegemon sell point, I wrote that directly from Wiki page, seems it is outdated. I checked the FLCompanion now, it says this:
