Yea, i quite like the underplate, it really makes it look heavy. I think that unless it's decided that some bombers will have ony 1 torp slot, you should give it 2 trops for now, it can always be changed later.

If I remember correctly... If you plan on adding this to Discovery in the future, Igiss does know how to do the "gun mounts" and since he's the one with the master plan, might be best to let him do that.
I am already planning a Kusari Bomber, so a Bretonian and Liberty Bomber is the expected next step. Modeling the ships is the easy/fun part. Texture mapping them are a bit more difficult, and I have never made a pilotable ship before (I am learning though!).
Now the underplating was added to the model to give it more mass, and a place to mount the torp guns (they'll hang underneath). I was thinking of adding an actual torpedo launching device like the ones on the RH Bomber. What do you think?
The handling, I was thinking, would be similar to the Taiiden (maybe more sluggish). It would have less firepower then the Taiiden, but the it would have the dedicated CD spot to its advantage. I didn't want this to be a all purpose BH ship, I wanted it to be a specialized ship designed to hunt large ships. I was already planning to make the Kusari Bomber the fastght bomber that coudn't really last in a dogfight. (I see that the idea of the two additional turrets to the three guns was disregarded as well. This I can understand.)
Of course, after saying all that, I have heard nothing from Igiss about my offer to model ships; I just started doing it anyways. I don't know how the bombers are getting nerfed in the next release, so designing them ahead of time is a tad foolish. I do not know if he wants fully mounted models that are usable in game, or just textured models that he can import into Milkshape or HardCMP. If I can be told what exactly he wants from me, I can be a bit more efficient.
Thank you Nightfall for the program suggestions, I'll be looking into that.
Thank you Igiss for this amazing mod, I would love to assist you in some way.
And to everyone else, thank you for your interest and compliments.
Well, one thing for sure, you can make the models and skin them (true, this is the itchy and extremely boring task as it don't seem to work as one would like it to), maybe even add the hardpoints to the model, as the ones to be used are defined in the .ini files.
I admit, I'm curious to see the results of the work, also, the adding of hardpoints doesn't seem to be too difficult (I had to figure it out for making a dockable Outcast Dread:lol:)
If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how would men believe and adore and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God? - from 'Nightfall' by I. Asimov The Outcasts consider Siniestre Nube a sacred place for several reasons. Early explorers discovered a jumphole within the depths of the cloud that leads to a strange world of ringed stars and strange craft. All ships in the burrial ground are placed facing that hole to honor the Alien Spirits. - An Outcast rumor
The red points (if you can see them) are the proposed hard points. Don't worry this is not the final paint job. This is just to give an idea of what it will be.
What I need to know is Should I just have a hard point on the bottom "wing", or should I add torpedo tubes or pods down there. Also tell me what you think of the final design (sans the above decision). I want to know if it is "heavy" enough, large enough, etc... (please look at the previous posts to see what this Bomber is planned to be like, and previous suggestions)
I think it certainly looks heavy enough, but still keeps that rakish air that the BHG ships have.
I think that 2 torp tubes in the bottom plate would look really cool, pods would detract from the sleek shape, I think. Also, you might move the bottom plate's hardpoint back a little bit, and make it a turret (if it isn't already) That, and the torp slots, would make the bottom plate a deadly component, and justify it's size.

For any one who is critisizing the 2 torp and one CD idea.
How about slowing the recharge of guns and giving it less power capacity so it effects the nova shooter's recharge time; also a BH pilot may6 have to stop shooting guns for a few seconds to actually manage a dual torp shot.I am sure that will justify the three together.
I like the Idea of
3 Guns, I turret, Two torps and one CD
Hope this graphic shows what I think may be a balanced setup. Please imagine a front View. As some one posted earlier, mount the torp bays on the plate to justify it.
Also inaccordance with other BHships, what do you think about the thrusters bring one on top of other asopposed to side by side?
G=gun,T=Turret,o=CD,0=Torps
Any how all I can do is drool. Awesome deisgn... I just started learning how to model ships so it will be another 4 to 5 months when you will see something out of me but I will be happy even if I am half as good as you. Keep up the awesome work.
