Well, I can see where they would be useful, but not on a day-to-day basis replacement for memorising things, or mapping. I have one char that I map everything on, if I'm really stuck I go back to it.

Using FLdatastorm to print the fully zoomed out disco universe (essentially the same thing as the low res pic provided with the mod but without the faction/history/guard-system details) doesn't want to work for me (I get about 3/4 of it on paper). Printed big in 600dpi it would make a nice wall poster (oh yeah, I'd need an A2 inject printer... can't quite justify that purchase and the bank robbery needed to fund it)... Hey, what about merchandising Discovery!!!?:)Mugs, mousemats, wall posters? OK, I'll shut up now...
Just an aside.... on another server (BK IIRC) you can pay $2m to the admins, and they will map all the vanilla systems for one of your chars. Saves you having to do it yourself for every single char, which I agree is a pain. But it only does the vanilla objects, which kinda balances the fairness out a bit.
It's only an issue when you're new (like me also) and start getting involved with people and clans, cause them saying "meet me at <obscure and hostile system exlusive to the mod>" is a choice between asking and feeling like you need your hand held, or wasting their time by taking a while to find it.
