Subtle rule time - but it requires the other player (the one that killed you or ran you out of the system) to agree...
Quote:0.0 Be excellent to one another. Consider the people around you. Keep fair play in mind. It's a game and nothing is gained, or lost, save the experience. Credits can be re-earned. Ammunition replenished. If you become infuriated step away. If you make a mistake apologize. If you wish to remain in system after you die, or after someone has moved away, simply ask.
The reason, of course, that it's a subtle rule is that the other party CAN say no, stay out. In which case - go play on another character for a while.

Actually it does make RP sense. If your ship has sustained damage, it can't be fixed in one instantaneous click. Even if everything has modular design, it wouldn't be that instantaneous.
then personally, again im not trying to start anything here, this is just my opinion.. if you get away, i now understand bout repairs can take time, but i see no reason why you cant hop on another ship (for EX, all my ships have the same pilot, they are all Wolf Vonhinslik, i eather activate a clone, transfer my files [im an android after all] ect, so if the RP works with it) and re consolidate with your other forces, and the RP makes sense
EX:
[ESS][Wolf.Vonhinslik] (my fighter) encounters a BH in NY, takes me down to little hull, i flee to another base that i have a Bomber [ESS][PIN_H34D] stationed, my fighter is now getting its repairs, and my crew hops into the bomber and consolidates with a few allies.
a situation like this would be completely within RP, like you can re engage within like 15 min with a different ship, allowing you to step into a different ship if the RP is the same for both ships. i mean if you have a Rogue and then re engage with your bounty hunter then obviously that would make no sense, but if you play the same RP in 2 different ships i dont see why this is a problem...
i have done this with a few people in the past (before anyone says anything i have received consent every time) and it works quite well, and is well within RP, i ask them if i get back within 20 min if the mind me re engaging per my clone was activated and i activated another ship or i just walked to my other ship if its docked at the same base
mind you i follow the rules as is, and i quite like the rules, its just this one has been on my mind for a while

If you actually managed to dock in the same friendly station in which your bomber was docked and did some sufficiently pleasing RP over the whole thing, I know I for one wouldn't dream of reporting you for rejoining a conflict. Strictly though it would be against the rules, but I don't think that doing that would be stepping outside the spirit of the rules - different people might react very differently to that situation of course!
My question for you regarding fleeing is the following:
Do you like exploding?
If you do, don't flee, however, if your characters don't want to die, running when they can is always a good thing.
