As the blanket bounty on all the junkers by the Kusari is common knowledge to everyone within the junker community by means of intercepted communiques stored in the black boxes of several downed junker vessels, is it possible to salvage this thread?
I resent being lumped in with those who 'facilitate this kind of metagaming'. What else am I supposed to do when confronted by a warcry from the Junkers, whether metagaming or not? I also contest that it is not the responsibility of subsequent posters to determine whether the OP was in fact metagaming or not. That lies with moderators and admins. It is simply the normal player's responsibility to roleplay the situation as it is presented.
The terms of the bounty are shown to BHG| and Ronin| members only. Junkers may know that there is a bounty on them, but not so far as the submissions of the fulfillment of contracts against the Junkers, as they do not have access to that channel. As that is what this is about, I doubt this thread is salvagable. Isn't 'intercepting transmissions' also pretty much powergaming?

//Such a shame - this thread had so much potential. The targeting of junkers by the Kusari Government is common knowledge, especially to the junkers since there were multiple attempts on the lives of several junkers which were unsuccessful - and those that ended in the junkers successfully evacuating their downed ships. During these engagements, words of the "The kusari government pays good money for your kind" variety were exchanged. From word of mouth alone, the background knowledge of this thread can be backed up
I apologize for the metagaming - I had no idea that the Sirian bounty board was not for all to see - it won't happen again.
No, we destroyed your black boxes and stole your ships. We are now arming a fleet of captured Salvager Frigates. No, hang on, we actually edited your black box records. You now think the Corsairs and Outcasts have signed an armistice to annex your bases.
See?
Here's how this goes.
I spend ages neotiating stuff so people can try roleplaying a hunter.
Someone posts a complaint to the "authorities".
One person's word declares what we are doing "unlawful".
If we continue to do what seems perfvectly plausible to me, we are now breaking rules as there is a rule against our performing unlawful actions.
Junkers: Up To No Good or Used-Car Salesmen? Liberty says the latter. Bretonia will too. Rheinland ditto. This is the consequence of making my much-loved faction completely dependent on the opinions of a few other players.
//No need to take it personally... It was merely a potential storyline stemming from an in game progression. If citing an oorp aspect in it renders the entire thing invalid, so be it.
on a side note though, enforcing the bounty within liberty house space is within the definition of assault if the bounty is just based on the condition that the target is a junker - if the junker had not done anything criminal.
Well would you prefer it if we were to make the entirity of the Junkers hostile for no reason? We dont do that, its called innocent until proven guilty. Frankly, if you submit reports showing both indie junkers and .:j:. ships regularly breaking the laws, we'd be hard pressed not to make them hostile en-mass to Liberty. I suppose the same applies to Bretonia and Rheinland too.
I find it disappointing that you havent utilised what's between the ears to make this a reality, thus more or less forcing me to tell you how to play your game to get what you want done.
And, lets be honest, the opinions of a few other players or the opinions of the NPC factions upon which we're based, which don't shoot Junkers right off the bat. Their NPCs do land on house planets after all.
EDIT: In fact, the Junkers are as enigmatic to me as the IND. My character always thinks they're up to no good, both the IND and the Junkers, but instances where she can prove it are thin on the ground.
Back to the topic, this is not the place for this discussion to be carried out. If this line of RP is unsalvageably invalidated because of an error in my choice of sources, please close it. If not, please allow it to continue. Just be aware that as the targeting of junkers increases as it has been doing so, threads like these are bound to pop up more and more. It'd be a shame to have to write this all over again.
Now that we all understand the various issues, I propose that we try to continue this thread by removing all of the non-RP posts (including this one). I won't do this without say so from all of the people who have posted prior to this; let me know if you want to or don't want to.
