Cut nanobot count by two, increase shield batteries count by 6.

How one can repair hull 5 to 6 times from total wreck on snub is beyond understanding.

I totaly aggree. That will make things way more easier.

Or even better! When fighting 1 on 1 with same class ships don't use regens at all. In conn that works fine.

Speed doesn't matter when it comes to aiming. If you aim by instict, of course. I hit way more with 600ms speed than with 625, 650, 700, and 750 ms. Buffing speeds wouldn't change much, except the fact that aiming on the cross would be a must. If your aiming doesn't work, geez, try to change how you do it, don't go around annoying people who trained to get it right.

Actually speed matters alot while aiming! Of course you can take your time and train for a certain gunspeed and there might be just some personal preference aswell...but from a technical point of view, fast flying guns are better.

The reason is this:

Your bullet takes less time to reach your opponent which means he had less time to change his place(by activly dodging or simple movement). When you imagine a bubble around your ship there isa certain range where you can't miss, if it is a 600 or a 750- here you can simply point and click. There is also a bubble where, as long as the target doesn't move in a straight line,is stationary or moves in a perfect pattern you simply have no chance to hit at all.
In between there is a shere where it matters. You and your target propably have similar reaction times and similar eye hand coordination so the reaction time should be the same. Now there will e a sweet spot again depending on distance where you will be reacting fast enough with your aim that you can catch your oponent with his pants down with a fast gun. With a slow gun you won't hit him on this distance because he will be able to offset you aim with his movement(of course predictability and agility of your opponents ships play a role here). This is due to you having to move your crosshair more for slow guns to aim - which also means that most of the time, you will have to extrapolate your aim as the aiming recticul is propably not right anyways - so you even need more brainpower with this aiming,a side from moving the mouse on your monitor more!

This somewhat followable iffor example your opponent zooms by you(or so you think) - with 600 you have to extrapolate his movement quite a bit to hit him - if you know this you might hit him pretty nice and repetitive. But if your opponent changes his direction while supposedly zooming by you you have lost it- you will have to move your im around the complete screen, you will have to wait on your ship to respond and steer in the other direction and so on...while with a fast gun all this movement is decreaed drastically and leaves you time to act instead of only reacting to your opponent.

Of course, slow guns are easier to aim with faster ships in comparison to slow ships as you can decrease all the flying and steering around or do it in less time....

Another analogy are turretsteering gunboats: If you zoom out like a bossyou basically don't have to aim alot so even someone with little training will be able to have a seriusly good aim...and you don't need to react alot, too.
Now you have all those pesky snubs flying around you and ou want to spank them hard with your superb aim...but what do those buggers do? They dodge and weave around to annoy you - now which gun do you pick? The mighty battlerazor to show em how it's done or the regular/faction turret?
You pick the faction turret. And why? Because the timespan and the distance bubble around for which your mighty TS aim, you had at the second you opened fire, is valid for a longer time/your opponent has less time ...so the hits come easier by quite a bit...and for bigger distances aswell.


At least that's my take on bullet speeds.....

Just reduce the shield regeneration rate and battles won't last that long, while everything else stays as it is. That would prevent people from shieldrunning too, in my opinion.

Bots are not. Starting the same "slow chew hull down" process 10 times until there are no regens any more (or he gets new ones) is just too much.

Half bots. For a test.
Divide bots into "Cap bots" and "Snub Bots" so that snubs cannot be fed by caps.

I would like to see armor and shields being more structured so that they can be used as balance widgets, instead of just one-time purchase that everybody makes once because they have to. Small ships within a class should have to choose between high-end armor and firepower; if you want both, fly the large ships. I'm working on this a bit, but am still trying to get small vs large ships figured out.
