Despite Gallia's ties with Rheinland and Kusari, it would make little sense that either house would come to their aid (or even be allowed to do so, inRP) with military supplies with regards to Leeds' siege.
Kruger already trades heavily with Gallia, as did ALG before them. If that hasn't brought down the wrath of Bretonia already (which...how much inRP wrath could they really muster?) I doubt seeing folks supply Leeds would make that huge of a difference. Rheinland never seemed to mind Bretonia trading heavily with Liberty when they were in that war.
Quote:We all know that factions' player populations never match their inRP numbers. So in 99.999% of all cases, it's safe to say that more factions = more players. Assuming we all have about as much time to waste on this game, more players = more supplies. So it's not a contest to begin with. You can't expect Gallia's nonexistent playerbase (GRN really is/was the only active faction by a long shot) to somehow match the activity of a dozen 'enemy' factions when it comes to trading. And GRN isn't a trading faction to begin with.
Not really. Look at the activity tracker - EFL has more activity than any Bretonian faction, and only 2 Liberty factions have more, and I'm sure EFL is not suffering from having a HUGE player base to draw all this activity from. Again...if GRN players wanted to win, what would be so hard to go and make an IDF or an EFL ship to do the supply part? What about indie players picking sides to help? What about hiring Freelancers? etc? BAF isn't a trading faction either, but they do have a Merchant Navy....what would be so hard for GRN to do the equivalent? It's not a matter of player base, it's a matter of player motivation.

Well, Highlandladdie, I'm just in general not a fan of major events based on player actions that may or may not make inRP sense. Similar to the whole Texas debate, where (some of) Rheinland's players feel their nonexistent capitals should be winning the war.

A: that mod was horribly out of date last time I looked at it. While the ships were fun to use when they worked, that was literally years ago
B: Lua errors galore
C: ew effort
But when people from the outside look inside, what will they see? A bunch of people using some Star Wars game to roleplay their own little battles in an entirely different universe or will they see something that actually bears it's own identity, even if it uses a myriad of different assets?
We could actually set up a Gmod server with a RP gamemode. All it needs is a custom map featuring a set of various bases then some player models.
It could be very fun, and a cool alternative to bar threads from time to time.

Fair enough, although I don't think Leeds and Texasburg is an apples to apples comparison. Also, take note that my first post was in agreement with Prowler's post, which stated that any such event would need approval of the factions involved.
I would like there to at least be a balance to how outcomes get decided, with events or deliberate RP actions like these actually playing a part in developing the story. At least I would prefer that to simply being told that no matter what happens, nothing anyone does/says inRP has any real consequences because Dev gods rule the fate of the universe. And I'm not saying that as a knock on the devs, but more of a concern for the storyline process.
