You should try to see it from general perspective, not just your own perspective.
Creating overpowered generic trading ID is harming numbers of corporation IDs used by players. And this harm gameplay of several unlawful factions. If there are almost none BMM ships in Dublin, Mollys are degrading into simple house pirates because they lose one of their archenemies which they are supposed to fight with by their lore. And same applies to Gaians and Planetform, Republican Shipping and Unioners, LWB/Farmers Alliance and Synth Foods etc.

Exactly. I remember those times when like 60-70 % of all indie traders were Interspace because it was only ID without cargo limit which was allowed to fly and trade in all four Sirian houses. Where´s the diversity then?
I haven't played on the GC server in-depth until the new year, I played on Discovery USA and then later Discovery Redemption. Both of which had much smaller player bases yes (DUSA having about 40 people on at prime and 20 on during off hours) but still enough people to get pretty evenly distributed. IC was always the main faction, alongside Zoners and Junkers. But that certainly doesn't mean there weren't other factions afoot.
Also, with a decreasing player base (all FL Disco servers are slowly decreasing) why do you need each and every faction to be represented? So we can spread the player base more thinly?
I have 3 transports, soon to be 4. A BWT FL, a GMG 5ker, A PTRAIN FL, and soon to be a Junker of some sort when I can make up my mind on the ship. I make credits easily on all of them, but it would be extremely nice to have the OPTION of having a 5k FL, simply for the fact that I would like my RP to be that way and I don't want to have to write a novel and pay 1 billion credits to SRP for it. (my bitterness towards that system is a topic for another thread though)
Just instaquestion: How does RP of Freelancer on ship with 2500 cargo hold capacity, would be different from RP of Freelancer on ship with 5000 cargo capacity?

As I would be faster and more agile I would tend to be ... quicker with my tongue, too.
As I would need to fly more expensive and lucrative cargo I would be more interested in high risk ( high fun ) and high value trades, meaning .... smuggle or blokade running....

Ah, life is great ;-)
If you're smuggling you have the perfect inRP go-to ships for that - the Pirate Train and the Serenity. Both are inRP used for smuggling.
Most balance choices are not done with RP in mind.
They are there due to only balance reasons and only. This is why RHA have battleships. This is why IMG have caps. This is why Rogues now have a cruiser. This is why civ tech are on-par with military tech.
This is due to GAMEPLAY reasons. Please stop trying to justify freelancers flying 5kers. You CAN justify it from an RP standpoint. ANYTHING can be justified via RP if you put enough thought in it.
But the reason we do not have them is due to balance and gameplay reasons and those choices are not going to change in the nearby future. If you, however, want to have your FL ID with a 5ker, do a SRP for it.

Sorry, I still haven't got the point.
You can play a badass smugler both with Dromedary and Serenity. Speak & behave like the last bastard, be drunk or insame on every ship your ID alowes. Same, you can be Mr Lawfull and Gentle trader on Serentiy, Heron, or Rhino.
JihadJoe played an admiral, who likes to fly fighter, and have a better view on situation, rather than from battleship's bridge, so you can play in same way, like you are very rich freelancer, who fly his own Rhino, because it reminds him his youth, when he just started he's busines, when have met a girl, who is now his wife and here we go....
