When DW quit the server, that left Omega-56 vacant. The only reason we bought it then was because it was really the only open Guard system we COULD buy. But yes, system that had been owned before by other factions have been re-purchased.
And the only reason it's a Zoner system is that they WERE there. As I said before, we discussed purchasing it in the past, and the only reason we didn't attempt to do so was because the ZTC had already put their bid in for it ahead of us.
Yes, the BHG bought O56 after the DW left. DW was a bounty hunter faction, BHG is a bounty hunter faction, O56 is a Bounty Hunter guard system. ZTC bought O74 because it is a Zoner guard system. I cannot see any way where the BHG would be allowed to buy a) a second system and b) a Zoner guard system.
Aside from all that, from a dev stand point, a Bounty Hunter Guard system, one jump from the Corsair home system and 2 jumps from the Outcast home systems, 2 systems from the Order and 3 from the Nomads is a large change in the balance of power in the Omicrons and would need to be throughly discussed by the team to to figure out what effects it might have on the overall storyline before any thought of whether to do this or not could be had.

BHG has about zero presence in the houses at this point. All the BHG are out in the Omicrons. This is probably the reason the BHG were not interested in the IND best of the best contest, they didn't feel they had enough activity to compete in it.

So you would purchase the system and convert everything to bounty hunter
with all the history and roleplay of so many using the system as zoner guard.
The TAZ aren't exactly true Zoners as defined in game but we do use the ID.
Even though I don't speak for the entire faction but only as a member,
I'd hate to be forced to accept baffin as the default guard system for all Zoners.
We have enough foot traffic in Baffin as the default shortcut into liberty.
' Wrote:The OSI are official? I was under the impression that the only remaining Zoner official faction would be the TAZ.
Yep, we're still very much alive and very much an official faction.
I cannot speak for the faction, though, so I'm not sure what our stance on acquiring O-74 would be, whether or not the rest of the guys are interested.

' Wrote:i'd find it asinine if the admins would allow the Core who use a BH ID and equipment to purchase a Zoner system.
To my knowledge factions aren't allowed to purchase already-purposed systems not of their own guard faction. I.E., in 4.84 the RoS could buy Omnicron 80, because it wasn't 'used', but they couldn't buy Poole, even though it was unpurchased (at the time). Allowing the BHG Core to buy 74 would be about on par with Das Wilde buying Halle (which is currently unowned iirc) and adding Wilde bases there.

Allow me to post something that would allow the BHG to obtain Omicron 74
Step 1: Relinquish ownership of Omega 56
Step 2: RP: Declare war on the Zoners
Step 3: RP: Send a massive fleet of Makos and other ships down upon Omicron 74
Step 4: RP: Destroy all ships, bases, and everything else there.
Step 5: RP: Build new stations
Step 6: Take ownership of Omicron 74
Will it happen? No.
If it does happen? It will be a new precedent removing any Factional Limitations to what factions can purchase what system(s).

Actually, it could happen, if needed.
Zoners are quasi-legal, just like Junkers. We don't HAVE to get along with them, after all. It's just been convenient so far to do so.
And I guess I'm a bit confused, because we have two bases that are ours, plus a bit of a presence in house space, and that's it. When you're referring to the Wilde, they have two full systems that are theirs, Nomads have more than one as well.

Those aren't very good examples, Agmen. If non invite only factions could have multiple systems, then I wouldn't see so much of an issue, but as of now it's never happened before.
