the ships "power" is the one element that can put a ship into or out of balance the most.
armour is adjustable - 10k more or less on a large capital warship - no big deal ( no, thats no invitation to ask for some now )
turret freedom - easily balanced in most cases - and rather simple
agility - ok, thats a tough one, too.
powercore - there is simply NO way the ship gets a greater powercore. - i would rather give most ships 5 more turrets than adjusting the powercore.
think of it .... if you gave the BHG destroyer "just a little bit more power" ( that d be 1.8 million instead of 1.4 million - thats one step ) - it would be MUCH more efficient ) - if you gave the bretonian battleship a heavy powercore instead of a medium, it would be a pvp monster.
or the other way round - if you gave the order gunboat a medium powercore - it would drain dry faster than a starflier with 6 codename weapons.
or in short - the cruiser gets no more power, end of the story. - or next time we got BHG gunships asking for a little more power, too - untill every ship has a little more power.
I've been doing some playtesting with the Harvester cruiser in open SP and I have to say I'm very impressed with it:
It feels like one of the most agile cruisers I've flown, it has quite a small frontal profile and good arcs of fire, especially to the front.
The powerplant I found to be entirely adequate, just right. I was fooling around with various configurations, and it seemed that with careful fire control and a bit of fore-thought there isnt much the ship doesnt do at least reasonably well.
Despite all this, too many people forget the most obvious perk of flying this ship: It looks absolutely fantastic, one of my new-found favourites, and I hope to fly one on the server one day.
I know its a gravedig, but just refreshing data from first hand experience.
Today i harvested
1 LF
3 VHF
1 Bomber
1 GB
1 LibCruiser
and scared the **** out of a Zoner BS and the Rheinland BS by shooting mortars from 2.7k,
None of them even scratched my hull, and i don't even have a cap armor upgrade.
My point it, there is no need to buff it. Today ive proven that with skill and luck one can
master any type of challenge. [/boast]
Haha with skill, 52 has no skill therefore you are rendered useless.
