Not really, I probaly put more hours in than you.
Also all I did was trade, pretty much the entire time using FL Companion to calculate the most profitable routes, so I was earning a minimum of like 30m an hour. Also did a bit of "fill me with some ore please miner and I'll pay you", that's like 40mil a pop for less than 30 mins.
Did some piracy too, and let me tell you, it's probably one of the toughest ways to earn money. If you're a know pirate (and I was) the Navy/BHG/Police are on your back constantly and you're easy to find because you have to stay in high traffic areas.. When you do find a trader, a lot of them try to run, which wastes money and time chasing after them. Being killed by the Navy costs you 1 million a pop for more ammo and stuff, when you do find a trader that's wiling to pay, you have to be reasonable with your demands. It's tough, and low paid, but SO MUCH FUN!!!

Not really, just ask a friend to make a quick /restart(whichever faction can use one), then go to conn and switch IDs. Could be done in less than 5 minutes.

As far as I know, your job is to collect some of the ID's, equip it, and your rep is already set up friendly enough with Gallic lawfuls.. I can help you with the ID trade, you just need to keep that one you prefer. Maybe some /droprep helps a little.

Deal with it. Some people lost much more and I don't see them crying.
Was that supposed to be constructive?
A serious concern has been raised here which I believe needs to be considered prior to future updates being made. There wasn't exactly much wisdom in revoking a faction's ability to use a 5k transport when there were obviously players of that faction already owning such ships.
Granted, it's not a huge amount to lose; I have lost maybe 1.5 billion in credits and assets over the years due to several bouts of inactivity, so I know how it feels. Unlike server activity, however, mod updates are beyond our control and we can never be sure as to what is around the corner. The point here is that when we buy a ship we know that it's immediately worth half of the value in-game or as much as 75% on the boards, not 25% as in this case because the ship is not in-line with the rules. If it was a fighter with the usual load-out then it wouldn't be much of an issue, but there might be instances where a character was previously worth a billion but has since been rendered useless by the update. That is hardly fair, is it?
I do not see any reason why the administration team cannot put in place some kind of review system for genuine claims when an update has had a serious impact upon a player's ability to use one of their characters.

I've lost a lot more than you and the admins aren't gonna give it back, so just put up with it and sell the ship in the marketplace.

You think this is the only ship I've lost?
I've had tons of valuable characters that are completely gone that I don't even bother mentioning because they've made it clear that deleted characters will not be restored. I dealt with those losses and kept playing, regardless of the lost battleships and capital armors.
But this is from issues caused by changes made in the 4.87 update, and I just hope that one day they will stop to consider how their updates affect people who own things that are changed. I'm not the only person being affected by these things, and they need to not make these sorts of changes unless they are ready to take care of the damage caused by those changes. People don't deserve to lose things that they worked hard for just because of unforeseeable changes that are completely out of their control.
Besides characters that were deleted, which I have dealt with, I have also lost lots of valuable ships due to their being made incompatible with their ID, with them being unable to be changed due to the only other factions being able to use them being completely hostile.
