My character, ForgetfulElephant, has been made unusable in 4.87. The new Council ID permits only up to 4,300 cargo.
Because of this, it is now against the rules for me to use that character, and the only other factions capable of using the ship are completely hostile (plus I have no interest in using this ship with the lawful factions, the Council's enemies, even if it were possible).
I would really appreciate if this character could be disposed of and I could be given 200 million credits to compensate for the loss of the 5k train (it also has a UAU8 and other gear on it, not worth moving, but I'll consider the 200M as cover for everything even though it is less than the total net worth).
I've lost a lot of other characters as well from similar circumstances, such as a Kusari Destroyer that I'd changed to MND a while back. It's still hostile with all kusari factions. It used to have 90% power, but now it has 10% power. Changing its reps would be very difficult because it is hostile with all kusari factions, and even hostile with kusari exile because of rheinland being somewhat friendly with kusari. It's reps are all screwed up, and repairing the reps would cause all kinds of damage with other reps.
I'm not going to go through the grocery list of billions I've lost from various causes, but I would really appreciate if the developers would either not make changes that have these kinds of effects on people, or be ready to compensate people who are negatively impacted by sudden and unforeseen changes.

Might be a problem, that...

In other words, nobody is going to buy it.
To be honest, it isn't really clever to allow an ID to use a 200m ship and then retract it without any due notice. This leaves players in an awkward predicament, especially in the case of Gallia. ForgetfulElephant may as well have bought the 4k Gallic Train in the first place, for half of the cost, but they likely had no idea what mod changes were forthcoming. It is certainly unfair to force a player to downgrade to a ship worth half of the value. I definitely would not pay 200m for a ship worth only 50m in resale.
Inferno is obviously somewhat peeved about this and rightly so.

Not really, just ask a friend to make a quick /restart(whichever faction can use one), then go to conn and switch IDs. Could be done in less than 5 minutes.
The point is; what's the purpose in somebody having an ID of a faction they're hostile to? It'll take some serious rep hacking for it to be workable and that's going to cost a lot of money, as if the poor fellow hasn't lost enough already.
Well once he equips the ID, it'll automatically give him good rep with whichever faction it belongs to, if I'm not mistaken. But yes I guess it would be rather hostile to others. *Shrugs* Maybe you'll then be able to dock somewhere and get a few bribes?
If I'm not mistaken, Council ID rephacks every Gallic corp (except GMS, maybe) to hostile, as well as GRN and GRP. If he gets a corporation ID, it will fix the rep only to that corporation.
In order to make the ship usable it should be at least neutral to every single Gallic corporation, GRN and GRP. Otherwise, even friendly NPC will turn red, if another red NPC appears.
Getting bribes is going to be hard, except maybe on GJ bases.
I wonder what will happen if he iterates over all Gallic lawful IDs?
I lost my 5K train + 400 million due to the rollback (I started playing after 14th August). They never gave me any notice of this until the rollback actually happened.
I've lost a lot more than you and the admins aren't gonna give it back, so just put up with it and sell the ship in the marketplace.
Now I feel like a brat for whining about my measly 50m and two ships. Though honestly if you had that much and started around when I did you are most certainly better at this game than I. All the more reason to /ragequit
