Consequences: "How about no" and hitting the F1 button... Oops... that 3 million credits the pirate was asking for now seems to be ... your entire bankroll. MUCH cheaper to pay the pirate than to pay me...

I suppose then he clearly omitted from the records that:
1) He did not demand anything at first. It was only when I entered the next system did he pursue and make demands.
2) That while he was making demands, he kept firing until the shields were down and continued well after.
3) I cannot prevent my ship from blowing up (pressing the nanobots), complying with the demand while he's still firing.
4) I told him right before my hull was less than 20% to "stop firing you idiot".
I cannot pay, and ensure hull integrity if he keeps firing on me, can I?
Yes I did press F1, because his RP was not of good calibre, and I have paid ransoms many a time just for the record.
It's your call of course, I just thought that I should chip in from my side.

1) I don't need to demand anything when you want me to demand. I demand when I think it's better to do so. To make it clear, if I would have demanded anything on the other side of the gate, you would have jumped through, and ran off. I did what someone with brains would do, wait for the right moment to hunt his prey.
2) That while I was making demands you were still trying to run with cruise engine and docking on trade lanes, that's valid, but don't blame me if your actions get the pirate angrier.
3) Try /givecash or try the transfer button, you didn't do any of that, and I gave you time to send money, you were making time, I did what was need to be done to make you hurry. (note: You were at 50% and with bots on your ship when you said "stop firing idiot")
4) I told you to pay.
Free advice: Most of pirates won't be nicer because you chose to insult them, they can't kill you if you decided to comply their demands, but they can make damage to make you understand, I wasn't going to kill you.
My demands were clear, you tried to run, I fired to you, I demanded the money one more time, you didn't send it, I kept firing, told you to send it, you F1'd. I usually don't report people, I try to solve things in game, but with F1ers it isn't possible, as... you left the server.

No you daddled. One moment you said you didn't want a "contribution" (your words), moments later you demanded a 'contribution'. Location was irrelevant, you could have pirated me before the jumpgate or after.

How can I cruise while you were constantly firing at me? I had over 2000 people on board, and as far as RP went, you didn't seem to give two hoots that when my shields were down you kept firing, killing people aboard.
As for docking with the trade lane, how could have I docked when it was both deactivated from your constant fire and that my position was completely off for docking.

I didn't do any of that, mate, because you kept firing regardless. You couldn't wait two seconds for me to type in (btw I'm a new player and still learning) or click the button. ALL my time was devoted to shield batteries and nanobots waiting for you to give me two seconds to fulfill your poorly devised and executed RP ransom. Also no, I was at 50% AFTER all my nanobots and shield batteries were used. It's at this time I told you to "stop firing you idiot", because it was evidently clear you couldn't wait two seconds for payment.
Hmm, lets have a think, your ship vs a passenger liner. Chances are next to zero that i'd get away.
Quote: 4) I told you to pay.
After you made your mind up about your "contribution", sure.

Didn't look like that from where I was sitting, and here's some of my free advice: A trader/passenger captain will sooner press F1 if a pirate starts acting like a quasi murderer who can't decide whether he wants money or not.

That's not what happened at all. After the jump gate you stated you did want contribution after all. You stated this once, to prove how decisive you are, you fired on a passenger liner, and continued to do so until I paid.
The point is your impatience cost you your ransom. All you had to do is sit there, and ensure the trade lane was out. You could see my engines, you had the power at anytime to disable them, but you continued to fire on me. It's simple as that.
As a rule I never F1, but you infuriated me so much with such poor calibre, IMHO, that I simply had to leave the game. So no, I can't say i'm sorry for F1ing or losing my bank balance.
The mods have every right to penalise for me that.

Heh, I never said I didn't want a contribution, I have the logs here, I'm seeing them as I'm typing.
- You can cruise whenever you want, regardless of if I was firing on you or not, you tried to run away, I disrupted you, and fired on you.
My pirates don't mind in shooting innocents, perhaps you as the person in charge of transporting them, you should worry more about them and don't get the bad guys angry. After you said you were going to pay, I gave you time to or send the credits via /givecash or by transfer button, you did none, I took your shield down, you insulted my char, he started shooting on your hull. Oh perhaps you remember that before that, you tried to fight back, so let's summon it up? I stopped you, I demanded credits (I can show you the logs if you don't believe me), you tried to run, you tried to fight me back, I demanded the credits again, you said you were going to pay, I gave you time, I took your shields down, you insulted me, I kept firing, so far is it right?
Perhaps you are new, and you don't know this, but it's really easy to escape using trade lanes, it's one of the most common ways to escape, keep the pirate talking while the lane gets reactivated, and you escape with the autodock.

Then next time, don't try to fight back, don't try to run away, pay the demands. Pirates can't kill you if you are complying to the demands if they do, they are breaking the rules, I wasn't going to kill you, but trying to get the transfer faster, and sorry, but the transfer button is right down there, I doubt it takes that long to click on it.

Again, I can show you the logs where it says "We are just asking for a contribution for Tito's Cause". And if people keeps F1ing from me, that's their choise.
You tried to run, to fight back, you insulted me (Surprise: A "please stop shooting me" would have worked so much better), I wasn't going to be nice.
And my final advice to you, and this goes for all the new traders/players here:
Get an armour, even a MKVIII, it's just 16 mil. Mount it, and when a lonely pirate stops you in a trade lane in a house system, RUN.
This guy got pirated in the moment he tried to fight back, what he should have done was running to the nearetes base on thrusters, in this case the BS Norfolk in Cambridge.
Quote:Heh, I never said I didn't want a contribution, I have the logs here, I'm seeing them as I'm typing
As I recall, I stated "what do you want"? And you DID say "Maybe I don't want a contribution" (to paraphrase).
Look, I'm either being pirated or I'm not being pirated. That's the point.
You can bring out as many logs as you want, but I stand by all the points I raised here. That your impatience cost you your ransom. Under heavy assault, a passengers captain's first responsibility is to the welfare of his crew. You made your demand, but you did not discontinue firing. I didn't want my ship to be blown up with over 2000 dead people.
I'm sure if you'll check those logs, or whatever you have, you'll clearly see that you didn't allow more than 2 seconds of non weapon fire. Hell, i was stationary the whole time. Was I using thrusters? Nope. Was I maneuvering at all in order to escape?
and FYI, an Orbital Spa & Cruise tag enables me to open fire on an attacker that has fired upon me. I didn't fire upon you instantly, I only opened fire because you didn't stop. Clear as that.
In any case, we can have a merry old time having a bitch at one another, but I doubt it's going to change anything.
You see it your way
I see it my way.
We might as well leave it at that, before this turns into a whole new flame fest.
Acceptable?
