Koolmo, if the fellow hangs around too long and the banter isn't back and forth (i.e. he isn't hanging around with your permission) then he's breaking the rules about leaving system after losing a combat. Whilst a trader may return to a system, he still has to leave it. Which means he gets ten minutes of throwing barbs at you or he logs off. He can't really hang around until you get bored.
