Kevin listened to Howard, nodding his head slowly. "Warmongers getting the residents all jumpy. Usual in this sector as it seems, always news about it some wheres." Kevin said before shrugging his shoulders. "Well I thought I'd ask, seems as the news is getting their info yanked from one end to another." Kevin said before he took a look at the men who walked in first, seeing their foreheads as if they too been attacked by some powertool.
Kevin shook his head, and then when he saw more come in, he began to wonder what time it was. First thing he comes to the station, it's quiet and peaceful. Howard shows up and it was still quiet and peaceful. Then things started to heat up, more people show up, and now by the looks of it, they're about to be attacked by one person who seems to enjoy drinking a little too much.
Kevin decided to let the man called Gaby, and Howard speak alone, as Kevin turned his head to the bartender behind the counter. "What is it that they ordered?" he asked, pointing at the strange forehead, long haired people. Kevin might have to pull up the database from Liberty or Kusari to find out who they are. "Chech'tluth."
Kevin raised a brow and then began to wonder. If they live here, then it explains why the coffee and the tea taste like old turkey dung. 'God I hate Manhattan' he thought to himself, he had a job there long ago, that required him to clean out some machine that got clogged with turkey dung and boy...it was nasty.
"I'll have what they're having then. I think I might need it." Said Kevin. The bartender nodded only to disappear for a moment, then return with the drink in a strange cup. Kevin sighed, paid for the drink then stared at it before grabbing it with his hands. "Here goes to my health." he said before taking a big gulp of the liquid, till he swallowed and shook his head. "Wow...."
Bartender grinned, "If you think that's strong, then you won't last taking a sip of Blood Wine." Kevin raised a brow at him. "Oh really? Give me a shot then." said Kevin. The Bartender raised a brow and Kevin shrugged his shoulders. "I haven't slept for, what...ten hours now? And suddenly the fresh air around me has become foul as if someone has been drinking way more than I have." The Bartender sighed and then nodded to get him the shot while Kevin gulped down more of his current drink.
Quickly the bartender poured the blood wine into the tall shot glass and pushed it towards Kevin. "If you survive, its on the house." Kevin shrugged his shoulders, not sure what the big deal was but if its something those big, weird foreheaded men drink then he'll just have to be a man and deal with it. At least it be free, right? Kevin took a deep breath as he grabbed the tall shot glass, stared at it for a moment as he looked up at the bartender. "I laugh at the face of danger." then quickly gulped down the liquid which burned his throat all the way down to his stomach. Kevin slammed the palm of his hand on the counter and shook his head. "Woooo...nelly." He licked his lips before smacking them and looked up at the bartender. "That wasn't so bad after all." Kevin said with a grin.
The bartender raised a brow, "Normally humans such as us would pass out or vomit on the floor after that, but seems like you've been through worse." Kevin raised a brow at the man for saying that. "You gave me that rotten ass coffee, for one thing. As for the other things, you have no idea. Life on Manhattan isn't so cheeky as some people like to believe. Worst crap dump in history of Liberty if you ask me." said Kevin as he rested his forehead on the counter and let out a huge sigh. Then he raised the tall shot glass while his forehead was still on the counter. "Another please my good man." said Kevin.
//Ahhh...Years of Star Trek Roleplaying...never expected to find it coming here though.
Gaby maked his cool face as he looked to the other man sitting on the table.
- "'ello 'der. I don't know ye i think! I'm Gabriel Angelos. Nice te meet ye!"
He took his hand and shaked it vigourously.
- "Anyway, wha' yer 'lads were talkin' 'bout?"
Gaby took a bottle and opened it, as Joe was sitting, followed by Saaz and Korbah, reluctantly joining the group.
He noticed Howard looking at the men of his crew.
- "Oh ye, let me do tha presentations uh? 'dat 'lad 'ere" He looked at Saaz. "Well maybe ye know him... He's my second..." He pulled face "And he's also too serious fer his own good i tell ye!"
Saaz rolled his eyes, then bowed.
- "Hello gentlemen, i'm glad to meet you all."
- "Yeye, whatever ya say Saaz... An' 'dat 'lad ova 'ere..." He pointed at Korbah, who was staring at each one of them with a somewhat predating smile. "...is our medic. 'tis a nice fella"
- "Hello..." Korbah leant forward, looking at Howard "Sir... You have amazing eyes..." He smiled, making a weird face "You know... I could pay you a fair price for them... Let's say... 10 000 Sirians Credits? Of course... I have augmentics that could replace them well... But they are expensive... I could transplant them for... let's say... 9 999 Sirian Credits?"
Gaby laughed, obviously being the only one to not understand Korbah was serious.
- "Ya see? He's funny i told ye!"
Saaz facepalmed
- "Right..."
Joe told something to a waiter, and she came back with six glasses.
- "There ya go"
- "Thank ye old friend!" Gaby grinned, taking a look at the waiter moving away. He then poured wine on the glasses, and took his. "Now thumbs up friends!"
Before anyone could take his glass, he bottomed up.
- "Ahhhh! 'dat is good."
Joe took a sip and grinned. "Not bad Gaby, not bad... Who you killed to get that?" He chuckled softly.
Gaby made his innocent face "Whaddyasay? I never killed no one..."
He noticed that Howard didn't drink yet
- "Come on 'lad! Ta the bottom!"
Gaby then did let his eyes fall on two KNF pilots having a drink on the bar.
He elbowed Joe, making his cool face "Damn 'lad, 'dose ladies are nice don't ye think?"
- "Ah.. Gaby.. Gaby.." Joe chuckled and shook his head. "You will never change..."
Kevin looked over at the man who smells like he took a bath in booze and just grinned slightly. Before he could even get his hand out, the man took it and shook it like he was about to rip his arm off. Pulling his hand back, "Name's Kevin." he told Gabriel.
"We were just talking about how crappy our lives is and what is making it worse." Kevin said as he grabbed the shot glass from the counter that was refilled before gulping down the contents, making a face before setting the glass back down.
Kevin watched Gabriel introduce his two men, one named Saaz, and the other being a complete psycho, Korbah. Kevin just shook his head at what Korbah was saying, unsure if he was joking or not. Now when the time came to drink what ever that Gabriel ordered for them all, the booze man was done before Kevin could grab his own.
Shaking his head, he took his glass and gulped down the liquid until it was empty and set the glass back down on the tray. Eventually, he will become a drunk himself if this keeps up.
As the medic, Korbah, leaned over and inspected his irises, Howard craned back to try and get away from him. "I th-think I'll k-keep my o-own, thanks. Th-they w-work well enough in m-me." He met Gaby's laugh with a wan smile, careful to maintain his watch on the doctor with one now extremely nervous eye.
The bartender placed a glass of the stuff Gaby had brought with him in front of each of them. With a rousing call to drink up, Gaby snatched his and downed it before anyone else had even touched theirs. Howard just carefully picked his up and took a little sip to try and work out what it was. He still had awkward memories of what had happened last time a member of the TAZ had given him some booze that he'd blindly downed.
He gave a mirthless smile at what Kevin said. "Ain't th-that the t-truth," he muttered to himself. Looking up and focusing on being positive, he looked up at Gaby again. "So, w-what brings y-you out th-this way then?"
Gaby started to fill all the glasses on the table again with a grin.
- "Come on 'lads, 'dat bottle won't empty itself, uh?"
He frowned when he saw Saaz didn't touch his glass.
Gaby sighed and leaned back, saying to Joe :
- "Ya see 'dat 'lad? An' i have 'dat as second... He neva drink! Can ye believe 'dat?"
Joe chuckled softly.
- "Well, at least there is one sober man on the ship..." He sipped some wine "By the way Gabriel... Didn't you tell me you had a new member in your crew?" He grinned "A lady?"
Gaby finished his glass and laughed.
- "Oh rite... 'dat 'lass. She's a panther i tell ye! But i'm not sure she likes men ye see?" Gaby chuckled "She neva accepts ta sleep with me!"
Joe maked a serious face.
- "That's because you don't know how to talk to ladies Gabriel..."
Gaby glanced at Joe, making a somewhat angry face. "Waddyasay? Yerr talkin' to me?!"
Saaz sighed "Oh great..."
- "Shaddap Saaz!" Gaby moved his hand to his jacket internal pocket, staring at joe who was remaining stony-faced.
He stood like that for a while then bursted out laughing, getting a cigar out of his pocket.
Joe chuckled and sipped some wine.
- "Now yerr tellin' me 'dat... Ye may be true" Gaby grinned. "But ye know wha'? 'lasses like 'dat!" He filled his glass again.
- "Oh anyway, Howard" Gaby sipped some wine "Whad i'm doin' 'ere? 'tis simple 'lad. I have a date ye see?" He grinned and leant back on his chair.
Saaz rolled his eyes, mumbling something...
Howard looked at Gaby for a moment. "A date? And th-this isn't C-Concordia?" He enquired politely. He knew they'd had something in the past, with Gaby supposedly being near arrested by station security when she accused him of looking up her skirt.
He looked around the room to see if the date was there already. "Not... Th-the N-Naval pilots o-over there? Th-they look l-like they could b-break us all in h-half. At the s-same time. U-using only a b-bottle." He faltered then looked at the alcoholic smoking next to him. "Unless y-you're into th-that kind of s-stuff I guess. N-not my place t-to comment. Heh."
A small beeper went off in his pocket. He ignored it for the moment, knowing it was his communicator.
A man in a smart attire walks in with his hands in his pockets. His face is intent and charming. His gaze sweeps over the room as he approaches the bar and pulls over a newspaper. He takes a quick look at the headlines before opening it up and reading an article. From time to time his eyes shift over to a number of men bantering at one of the tables. Finally a barman heads over to the table with a tray of scotch glasses and the suited man follows him.
"From the man at..."
"..At their table, thanks tender" Says the man and pats the barman on the soldier, dropping a credit card into his jacket pocket.
The barman walks away and the suited man pulls up a stool.
Gaby was bottoming up his glass when he heard Howard question and his drink went down the wrong way.
After some coughs he cleared his throat.
- "Wha'? Why would i want ta see 'dat silly witch... She's not even good-lookin'" he shook his head and pointed at a somewhat fat old gaian lady having some drinks on a table nearby. "I tell ye, i'd rather flirt with 'dat 'lass ova 'ere." He chuckled.
Gaby filled his glass and grinned.
- "Nah, ya see. I wuz flyin' 'round in tha TC² and suddenly some 'lass contacted me ye see?"
He maked his modest face. Nearby, Korbah was playing with a scapel, looking damn bored.
- "So we talked a bit, and 'den she realized i was such an interestin' 'lad, and 'dat i smell nice an' all. So she begged me ta accept a date with her uh?" He sipped some wine. "Since i'm a nice 'lad an' all 'dat sort of things i accepted, o' course" Gaby maked his cool face.
Saaz coughed "Not exactly what i remember... You heard a lady voice on the communicator.... From an IMG convoy ship if i recall correctly..."
Gaby nodded, sipping some wine.
- "...Then you harassed her during hours until she accepted to meet you in Freeport 6..." Saaz tried to smile but failed "And i bet she actually realized how silly you are and she had the good idea to not show up..."
Joe bursted out laughing.
Gaby pulled face.
- "Shaddap Saaz, bloody liar. He neva says 'da truth, Howard. Don't listen to him!"
He looked again at the Kusarians pilots, and grinned.
- "Ya know Howard, i think i need ta make yerr sentimental education. Right 'ere. Whad ya think, uh?"
Saaz facepalm'd "Oh Eris... I know how this will end..."
Howard looked around for support. "Err, s-sentimental education? W-what exactly is th-that?" He peered nervously at Saaz. That had sounded ominous and not particularly reassuring. His pocket beeped again. He pulled the communicator out this time and peered at the screen; one missed call from the flight deck followed by a message.
His cargo had been unloaded, stored and the consumer goods piled on. That meant he could leave whenever he wanted. "Uh, well, I'd l-love to s-stick around, b-but I have cargo t-to move. I sh-should be going?" he said hopefully, but without any belief he'd be going anywhere any time soon.
On the other side of Gaby and his mob, a man in a suit sat down at the bar.
Kevin just stayed quiet as he slowly drank his second glass of wine that Gaby eagerly refilled. Kevin would just stare at the monitor, seeing what was being said and displayed on the news while listening to the others talk. Kevin even heard something beeping in Howard's pocket, and wondered what that was about. That was until it beeped again and heard Howard say something about leaving.
So Kevin put the two together and realized that Howard's ship was loaded up and ready to go. Kevin could use that chance to escape as well, besides he needed to be ready to leave as soon as possible anyways, in case he get's a message that he can pick up the ship he wanted.
Kevin would set the glass down and slip off his stool. "Come on Howard, I'll help ya to your ship." said Kevin, ignoring Gaby's plea of wanting them to stay. "We'd love to stay longer, mate but he's got a shipment to run and I may have a ship to pick up later." he told Gaby, and hopes he does get that ship. Though, Kevin will soon find out that he won't be leaving this station for a while....
