We are descendants of the four corners of the Lusitan Empire , better known in the history books as the Portuguese Empire. We decided to abandon this designation and therefore adopt the name of our ancestral mother tongue the Portuguese (Lusophone). At the moment we are all freelancers and we are just looking for a home.
We know that your empire is at stake. It's being attacked from many fronts. We are contacting your highness, to put our squad at your disposal and thus honor the treaty set in 1373 which creates a alliance between your and ours ancestors.
Let us help your empire. Let us bring death to the enemies of the alliance.
I, Liasons Secretary Hayley Winchester, under the authority of Her Royal and Imperial Majesty Queen Carina I, by the Grace of her Forebears, Sovereign of the Realm of Greater Bretonia, Empress of Tau, of the Kingdom of the Near Omegas and of her other Realms and Territories, Royal Protector of the Independent Worlds of Magellan and Cortez, Defender of Justice, Head of the Order of the Bretonian Empire - am hereby authorised to speak on behalf of Her Majesty, Her Government and the Realm of Bretonia.
Forgive us our delayed response, a small team of curators have been occupied with finding the relevant historical documents. Their results were as follows:
Lusitania, or the "Lusitan Empire", was an early predecessor of the nation of Portugal which stood until the Sol Exodus.
The majority of the people of Portuguese origin who left Sol boarded the crowded sleeper ship Hispania.
The Anglo-Portuguese Treaty stood until that day of Exodus. As part of the treaty, some boarded the Bretonia along with the people of Great Britain and her ally, Australia.
It is assumed you relate yourself to the latter group, with the former most likely an indistinguishable part of either the Nación Maltesa or Imperio del Corsario.
The current times are indeed dark for Bretonia, occasionally lit only by the hopes and spirit of our stout people and allies. If you wish to take up arms in her defence, the War Cabinet cares to know your size, strength and intended operational zone(s).
I bid you good day, Mr. Teixeira, obrigada for your offer of assistance.
Yours sincerely, Hayley Winchester
Liasons Secretary
Do not worry. We understand that times are difficult and time is running out for sure.
Indeed much of our descendants came in the sleeper ship Hispania. But the Portuguese nation has always been a nation of immigrants and always had millions scattered by other nations.
We do not want to associate with groups that advocate piracy or protect the Nomad. We have always been a nation of explorers and warriors. For us, a treaty is a treaty and as such we will honor it.
As soon as possible we will send all intel you asked via secure channel.
You can always contact me via S.K.Y.P.E. protocol for (OCV-INVICTUS).

I will explain the theory behind the Letter of the Marque to you, in the hopes it prevents any further mishaps which have entered the Crown's notice. Whether in reparation for other crimes or voluntary enthusiasm, they work for the good of our fair Kingdom in unconventional ways, namely the capture of cargo for our uses and/or the disruption of our enemies' transports. These tactics are to be kept relatively quiet, and their operations within Bretonia itself should be kept to a minimum.
While many of our Privateers are deployed to the north against Gallia, they have additionally been used towards the south in the past. Given your basing around Porto Novo and the Omegas, the War Cabinet has decided that you would be more suited to working there.
The Mollys, Corsair Empire and Coalition will be your main targets, along with the Gaians, other unlawfuls and anyone working with the above, directly or otherwise.
However, do not target Rheinlanders, IMG, Zoners or others who are currently welcome within Bretonia - if you are suspicious of any of the above, submit evidence to us instead of taking action. Any reclaimed cargo should be sold to where we need it most, or otherwise passed over to Bowex or BMM for repurposing.
Should you hear of Cambridge, Poole or Sprague coming under attack and can spare needed forces to assist, contact those in the area.
First I want to thank you for your concern for having sent an emissary to the prison where I was to set me free.
We are pleased by your response. Just shows that the crown appreciates our work . We are pleased that the crown allow us to operate in the area that we asked.
I would like just to say something important. Despite widespread around Bretonia forces that the privateers are all just a "bunch" of pirates, we would like to say that we do not identify as such. The vision we have of the mission that you gave us is simply that we are helping Bretonia in the wars it faces. So we're fighting your, and now, our enemies. Yet something makes us sad, most of the Bretonia forces have put us in the category of simple outlaws. We would like to try to develop within the forces of Bretonia that at least the squad /|\ ( Lusophone Squad ) are honorable people who are only helping their allies. Briefly, we do not want subservience but a bit of respect and consideration for our help. We do not want to be treated as dogs as most privateers are used to, we are your Queen friends and we are here to kill Gallics, Mollys, Corsairs and Coalition pilots.
Hopefully the retrograde picture of privateers with wooden legs, eye patch and lack of ways will be lost in the future.

Keeping to your own operations outwith the usual areas of operation that are assigned to our Armed Forces and Police officers would reduce the chances of a repeated incident where the chain of command may come into doubt.
While you are not technically part of their ranks, complying when it is in the interest of Bretonia as part of your mission is not an unreasonable suggestion.
If there is to be a problem with anyone who is not a target, my advice to you is simply to move on rather than cause problems. Discretion is useful and thus required in these matters and I hope you have been using it diligently.
If any serious issues continue arise, seek advice from us rather than cause any more on your own.
