As i am waiting for your side of the story, let me remind you of something.

That i will be most happy if you remind your brave men and women that engaging and firing capital ship weaponry near a civilian base that already has seen enough bloodshed and war, that could put the Liberty/Rheinland front to shame, is a bad idea.

That you have presence within and 5k's outside the Freeport for this very same reason. To not endanger the civilians and innocent that live and trade within Freeport One.

The Freeport is a place to rest, to repair and to replenish one strengths for the voyages ahead.

And as for the pirate problem that you will no doubt address in the reply, i am already dealing with the situation as we speak.

Although any proofs you have regarding this and any future incidents, will be most welcome, so that leverage will be on my side, for a change.

And that is a change that matters.

I see that i do not share the same tone of sarcasm and of humor with the Bretonian gentlepersons.

In reply to your concerns, there are rules, that are followed by the Confederation of Freeports and anyone that uses said Freeports, rules that you probably are aware of.
In case of loitering and of staging attacks, while abusing the safety of the No Fire Zone.
If not, you can find them in the neural network.

And although, as you said, 'my base', also known as a Freeport, is truly within Omega-3, i don't see the Admiralty giving anyone a heartache when Hessians decide to use it after shooting the Corsairs.

Or Rheinlanders. The ones you had a brief, but bloody war, yes?
That resulted in civilian casualties, within this 'base'?

As i said, the Freeport cares only to be a place of serenity, not a place of war.

Yes, there are rules. I will quote two which the captain of the Osiris was clearly breaking:

5. No capital class vessel shall remain within the no-fire zone of any given Freeport unless assisting Confederation of Freeports personnel or the vessel in question is granted temporary permission by on-duty Confederation of Freeports personnell. Capital class vessels that are asked to leave the n- fire zone shall do so immediately or face the full ramifications of violating Freeport laws.

And:

6. No ship may loiter around the Freeport. The no-fire zone is NOT a security blanket. Land, do your business and either continue on or take up quarter for the evening. Loitering only attracts unwanted attention.

So, how do you intend to enforce these?"

Greetings Sir/Madam,
This is my first report after being sworn in as the captain of HMS-Kite, so my sincere apologies for any errors that you may encounter along your reading. Now coming to the topic.

It was bright , quiet and no sign of any hostile activity in Cambridge. So I along with my crew decided to move to Omega 3 system for a brief patrol as the ship's long range scanner was able to spot some unknown ships. Upon entering the system, the area around the Jump gate showed no signs of any activity. So we decided to take the tradelane and move to Freeport 1. When we started to advance towards the Freeport, our scanners picked up unknown unknown neutral ships 24K away. When we got to the Freeport 1, we saw a huge gathering of Zoner Capital ships. There were three Zoner Nephilm dreadnoughts each with Armour upgrade and hyperspace equipment. In the meantime I was joined by BRF|HMS-Sentinel and BRF|HMS-KIte at Freeport 1. Upon being asked about the licence for using hyperspace equipment in Omega 3 space, Mr. Fisher denied that such a licence was required and that BPA or BAF had no business here. I made a quick search over the database and and found that none of the ships were registered to use jump equipment in Omega 3 space.And when questioned further, one of them went on to dock with the Freeport.

A few days ago corsair Osiris was found taking advantage of the NFZ near Freeport 1 and now the three zoner capital vessels with suspicious activity. Chances are that they could be hijacked zoner vessels supplying corsair ships with ammunition. We are yet to be clarified about their intentions with such heavily armed ships and rare equipment.

Also running a second search on the database I found that Rabbit has requested for a licence but the registration office is yet to grant a licence, but the other two Dreadnoughts show no signs of formality. I also ask for permission to issue orders to engage the foreign vessels if found anywhere outside Freeport vicinity. Also I am attaching some scan reports that support my above described report.

I think it's time for me to have my say don't you?

So let's review the facts then.

Your vessels came across the Osiris class vessel inside the No-Fire-Zone. Anything that occurred prior to this is irrelevant UNLESS you were in hot pursuit of the vessel and can prove it. Reviewing the communications logs there is a sixty second window between spotting the Osiris class vessel in question and opening fire.

In those sixty seconds the vessel in question clearly stated that there was a No-Fire-Zone in effect. Are your pilots deaf? Do they not pay attention? Are they, perhaps, a little fast on the trigger do you think? Whether or not the vessel in question was loitering was none of your business and remains none of your business. The fact of the matter is that your vessels were clearly and utterly in the wrong.

End of story.

No further argument required.

You have failed to provide any evidence of prior engagement and pursuit to the Freeport. Your vessels clearly came to the Freeport, found the Osiris and went completely ape bananas on it.

Now the question is what shall we do about that.

I admit that they have mistaken by not asking the Corsair captain to move out of the no-fire zone before firing, what probably won't happen again. You would allow us to engage them if they refused moving out, right? Because else would practically be sheltering our enemies, who are even breaking your own laws.
What I am more worried about, however, are those three Nephilims mentioned in captain McCroskey's report. Were those capital ships, even of battleship class, a method of your laws' enforcement? Or are you, in fact, protecting the Corsairs and preparing something I wouldn't even like to mention? Or are those ships merely stolen by irresponsible freelancers with possibly harmful ideas?"

And then I make it your problem.

Running counter to that is this
If it happens outside the No-Fire-Zone. Your problem.
If it happens inside the No-Fire-Zone. Not your problem.

So those three Nephilim class vessels? Not your problem. The No-Fire-Zone is not Bretonian space, it's Zoner space. And those are Zoner vessels being flown by Zoner pilots in complete accordance with the Freeport laws, something that your pilots seems to be unable to do.

I would say that it really isn't your business. Three Nephilim is not a "huge gathering of capital ships". Three is not a huge number. Especially when they are colony vessels, effectively mobile Freeports, and even more especially when they have no support vessels.

But enough of that, you seem to be of the opinion that they are battlehips so I'l leave my reply at that.

There is still the matter of your vessels that broke Freeport Law. As the law is the same for everyone I shall issue the following fines.

To the captain of the BAF|HMS-Invictus 32,500,000 credits
To the captain of the BAF|A-HMS-St.George 32,500,000 credits
To the captain of the BRF|HMS-Matilda 32,500,000 credits
To the captain of the ship BAF|Cpt.Evyn.Wildcat 8,125,000 credits

These are payable by the individual captains or by the Bretonian Armed Forces, I care little for which, although them paying it themselves could teach them to wait next time.

To be frank, I am very appalled by your daring demands. If you knew better, you would know that Bretonia even has a law which disallows us bowing to such. I will quote it:

6.2 - Ban on Suing the Government and Armed Forces
Under the Articles of War, it is now illegal in Bretonia to file civil or criminal actions against the Armed Forces or the Crown during a time of war. This is to prevent distractions from the war effort. Any such attempt shall incur a hefty fine to the person breaking this law, and be subject to arrest.

Bretonia will remember your behavior, but we will disregard it for now. And If you are really bankrupt and you need someone to take credits from, I propose the Corsairs. The captain of the Osiris has broken a few of your laws, haven't they? I will quote them again, in case you've already forgotten:

One: 5. No capital class vessel shall remain within the no-fire zone of any given Freeport unless assisting Confederation of Freeports personnel or the vessel in question is granted temporary permission by on-duty Confederation of Freeports personnel. To clarify that an Osiris, a battleship, is a capital ship: 5. A) Capital class vessels include destroyer, cruiser, battlecruiser, carrier, battleship and dreadnought class vessels. Not included in this definition are gunboat and gunship class vessels and below.

And two. Or three, depends of how you look at it: 6. No ship may loiter around the Freeport. The no-fire zone is NOT a security blanket. Land, do your business and either continue on or take up quarter for the evening. Loitering only attracts unwanted attention.

The last law is made exactly for preventing what has happened, and the evidence shows that the Corsair captain has clearly broken it. I demand you contact them about the matter."

George takes a few sips of water. He speaks something for himself, mentioning some pirates and Cortez.

2.2.3 - The Zoners of Freeport One have the right to demand the Bretonia Armed Forces withdraw its forces from the vicinty around Freeport One, and the Bretonia Armed Forces must respect this request if it be issued.

Article 1. Zoners of Freeport 1 recognise authority of Kingdom of Bretonia over the Omega-3 system, interest of Bretonia in maintaining security of trade connections, [and] mining operations and research missions.

Zoners of Freeport 1 consider Corsair Empire as dangerous force that poses a direct risk to Freeport population and citizens of Kingdom of Bretonia and support Bretonian Police Authority and Bretonian Armed Forces in their actions against Corsairs and those who directly support them so long as hostilities continue for both signing parties.

Oh, and... Don't continue with your problem-my problem rubbish. Corsairs hiding a few meters from the Bretonian border is, unfortunately, my problem, although I wouldn't wish it at all. We will ask them to move out of the no-fire zone next time, and if they don't, we will not hesitate to turn them into spectacular fireworks everyone on Freeport One will be able to watch for free. If you continue protecting our enemies, I'm afraid you will have to finally feel the consequences. I wasn't serious when I mentioned the possibility of finding half the Corsair navy stacked around your Freeport one day, vainly trusting the no-fire zone will protect them, but it appears I should have been.
If you are not content with this, the Bretonian War Cabinet is discussing a solution for solving all our problems, at least around this matter, which should be ready in a day or two, and about preparation of which I have contacted Miss John-Kane some time ago, but got interrupted by this. Don't worry, it is only a trade.
