Not increase prices? Reduced (lower) prices mean even more grinding, isn't it?
Believe me, it was much much more grinding when the field depletion was in effect. The yield dropped to 50% quite fast.
And I don't know what are you complaining about, in a standard field (normal drop rate/yield), a Hegemon can be filled in 3-4 minutes. I think that is not that much time. You are making money, you should put in some effort.
Where are you mining? If you experience lower mining speed, you might be in a low yield field (yield is not same everywhere).
Okay I don't want to sound big headed or not so big headed. But the Hegemon. There are many advantages and disadvantages for this ship.
Advantages -
- Cargo Space for mining/hauling solo.
- The Turrets it has. Is able to defend it self but is very easy to hit.
- A nice and lovely RP platform.
Dis-advantages -
- Easy to hit
- Massive ship size. So it is hard to manuvauer within big asteroid fields such as Tau 23.
- I find the armour of the Hegemon is weak for it's size.

If you wish to mine solo and on your own I advice the Hegemon. Aslong as you stay away from very populated areas and big asteroid fields.
But if you wish to mine in a small group or with a faction. Then I advice you use either the "Annapurna" Such an amazing ship. This is my best friend, I have more of these than I do have anything else. That is how much this beauty of a ship amazes me.
If you do not fly one of these you also have the option of flying the civilian shipline. The cargo space is not amazing. Is very small, but they are small ships.
MV-422-B "Surveyor" Civilian Light Miner
SMV-612-C "Scraper" Civilian Medium Miner
MEMV-971-AH "Arrastra" Civilian Heavy Miner
They are very small, agile, but powerful ships. I am still wanting to buy one of these, but am still unsure where I want to mine with it.
Now I also saw and hear you are looking to join a group of miners and haulers meaning mining and transporting ore all over the place. Well let me suggest a faction to you. They welcome new players, veterens or even just normal players. The IMG|
The IMG| are a great faction, they are heavily targeted by pirates all over sirius, but we do have the security force to with stand most of the pirates on our lucky days. If you wish to join the IMG| on our voyages around sirius transporting ore all over sirius. Then contact myself or Jack Henderson or even the IMG on the forums.
I myself will be able to help you through your application process and get you sorted with the basic stuff. But before you are accepted into IMG you will have to prove some RP ingame also.

I would say yield is already decent. However, which ID are you using and what ores are you mining?
If it's just the generic miner ID, unless there are server-side changes you'll only get a x2 bonus on everything but Iridium (x3) and Oxygen/Water (x4).
If you're looking to mine a specific field, check to see which IDs have bonuses for that ore AND what ships they can use for a bonus. If you're sticking to one area, it often pays to specialize. The tradeoff is that you may not be friendly to certain sell points, but you're almost guaranteed access to one of the top few. Also check the mine icon on your Map/F6 screen and look for the yellow zones to make sure you're actually mining in the best areas.

Not sure what you mean here - do you mean "increase" the prices you sell ore at bases? Frankly, mining is the fastest way to make money, as the only expense to the miner is buying the ship/equipment upfront. The new unlimited fields means it's infinite free money.

Hegemon already has somewhat good price in my opinion. For 25 mill (I also calculated the equipment price), you get a ship with ~2600 units of effective hold (I mean this much remains after installing equipment). With this, you need only ONE trip with a top-price ore (platinum for example) to earn its price back (e.g. platinum sells for 9200 at the best/closest point, so you earn ~24 million on one trip). So I do not really understand what the problem is.
If you mean it is hard to earn money for the first Hegemon, well, that is somewhat true; though you have options to make it easier: with helium mining you can earn it quite fast, or you can ask for a loan on forum. If you ask for 50 mill for a new Hegemon, you can pay it back with interest in 2 days (if you have time to mine).
