Look into Legion of the Damned in the Unofficial Factions thread It was a Brigand faction that, as far as I have come to see, Bret knows more about. You can ask him maybe.

Gallic Brigands, otherwise known as the Free Brigands of Gallia, is a loosely affiliated union of experienced criminals and other antisocial elements, many of whom are former Police pilots. While Brigands sustain some sort of romantic aura of medieval highway bandits who robbed the rich and gave to the poor, they often do the opposite, robbing smaller shipping companies in favor of larger corporations and their Police protectors. Brigands are numerous, and in large numbers are a force to be reckoned with; together with Unione Corse, they firmly control all black markets in Gallic space. While the Gallic Brigands avoid political struggle and have no sympathy for the ideals of the Council, it is widely known that they have indirectly assisted Maquis and Council in various operations of the Second Gallic War, including the liberation of Marne.
Funny, been thinking of revitalizing Brigands too from my old RP. Perhaps we could join forces, AND RULE GALLIA. Or at least the underworld/blackmarket... (Bandit)

Seriously though, lets chat...
Been thinking that for long, but Maquis seemed the more likely. Though, I never got to work around with the lore part, or history or any other stuff in that regards. Just went through wiki, old factions and stuff, but now, maybe with 2 potential lore writers, atlast, I can get to play as a Brigand/Maquis. Join me in, if any of you are good in lore writing and <insert obligatory assets for a faction info page>.

If you do decide to start a Maquis Faction can you please think carefully on its RP. The last few attempts went too far on the 'May treat Transports as Combat Targets'.
Each time I met them it went 'Ah! a Kings lackey, die' and followed by a big explosion. Even when I was sat next to a docking ring it was shields down and then followed by Snac shot. When I asked what had happened to the RP I was told I should have docked and RPed from there.
All that happens, after a short time, is that players in Gallia just dock and go play another character until they log off. Hence why the Maquis Factions never seem to last long.
I can't really comment on the ones that spent quite a bit of their time in 23 fighting anything that moved as I only met them once.
'I would like to be half as clever as some people like to believe they are' Life is full of disappointments, it is how we handle them that helps to define us, as a person

Or better don't. The Legion only used the Brigand ID but their RP was something different in many ways from the lore brigand faction. Free Brigands of Gallia (FBG~) was a better representation of the NPC faction but I don't think you can still find their posts. It was even before the Legion.
