Pretty much, and once they're merged with the existing official faction they can ask for their own subforum under the faction forum, just like MN and QCP after their merge with BAF|.

If they're willing to merge with existing official faction and if the official faction wants to be merged with them and take all the required responsibility for them as well.
If they are one faction, don't they need to fly under the same tag? It just seems like an ad-hoc decision, and the arguments put forth here just seem like after-rationalization. I don't care either way, congrats to D9, but I do think the hostile defense raises more questions than it answers.

If D9 were given officialdom without going through the normal process (which turns out to be wrong to some extent), then it DOES make the unofficial faction leaders look like idiots. They feel demotivated.

While I have nothing against D9 or their RP or anything like that, I still feel cheated on some level.
But yeah, since they were not open about the merge and behind the screen dealings made me assume what was obvious, fine. I don't care anymore about it.

If any merger between official and unofficial factions gives them such distorted impression then the misalignment is on the interpreted's end. Sure, in some capacity I do feel for James' effort and had briefly contributed to it even, but don't falsely point fingers for none of the "wilde" factions dragged here have any responsibility regarding that particular case.

I am pretty sure that I mentioned "if D9 were awarded officialdom without any hassle of faction creation threads, then the unofficial factions would have a sour feeling", which they were not. Since, they kinda had some dealings to merge with official factions. So, everything is fine now and the unofficial faction leaders are happy again maybe?
Also, I didn't drag the other 2 Wild factions holding them responsible of anything. I just pointed at them and mentioned that "even they (the other 2 Wild factions) went through the normal process of faction creation and became official instead of becoming official just like that (which turned out wrong)". I don't think that is any kind of false accusation and holding them responsible for anything.
